Make A Wish - DRU

Hello, and welcome. Today is my last post as part of the Dies R Us team. I  am stepping done since the holiday season is busy for my shop.  I will be sharing with you today a shaker card

I am sure you are like me and you have rolls of washi tape to last a lifetime. Here is a little tip match the print up and create a pattern paper with it. Adhere this to a card base. My card is 7" x 4" so I did the pattern paper a 1/4" smaller.
I love these edger dies. All I did was run it through my die cut machine and took a craft knife ad removed the inside to create a frame. Now on the back of the frame, you would want to use a strong double-sided adhesive to attach a piece of plastic, I used an old page protector. After, the plastic is in place cover the inner frame edge with a foam adhesive. Set aside while we create the confetti.
Now with the mini dies I did multiple cuts of each. This will be part of the confetti filler in the shaker.
In the center fill the card up with the confetti die cuts and sequins. Since this shaker fills the entire card front I added a lot of filler.
Now, remove the foam adhesive backing from the frame and carefully line it up to the card. Press the frame edges down firmly to ensure no confetti of escaping.  Give it a shake and you are now done.

Score - SBC 479

Today's #479 sketch over at Scrapbook Challenges is a super simple one.

Here is my take on it.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio and Bazzill Basics), pattern paper (Basic Grey and Crate Paper), washi tape (Scotch Brand, My Mind's Eye and Studio Calico), sequins (Studio Calico), mist (Heidi Swapp), mask (The Crafter's Workshop), embossing folder (Sizzix), embossing machine (Sizzix), tag (chic Tags), modeling paste (Liquitex), manual die (Spellbinders), die cutter machine (SpellbinderS), flair (Zappy Dots), marker (Faber-Castell) and pen (Project Life)

Here is a closer look.
I wrote out the date in pen first but i didn't like it blended in too puch with the pattern of the tag so I wrote over it in marker to give it more depth.

This badge originally had "football Mom" on it but so I covered "mom" with a piece of washi. Perfect fix for the on;y football theme item in my stash.
Don't forget to link up your creations on the Mr. Linky at Scrapbook Challenges to have a chance at winning this month's prize.

Love Because That is what Awesome is Made of - SBC #465

Last Monday's reveal for Scrapbook Challenges was based on this sketch.

Here is my take on it.I have to be honest but I  was hating how this page was working but I am glad with the end results. I blame it on the fact I had a month break from scrapping when I started it so I was not in the right mood.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio and Bazzil), pattern paper (Studio Calico, Crate Paper, and American Crafts), stickers (American Crafts), doily (Doodlebug), die cut (was a Fiskars freebie), journaling card (Project Life), washi tape (Scotch Brand), electronic die cutter and software (Cricut) and diy enamel dots.

Here are a few close ups. That "Love" circle is actually a die cut I got in a Paper Crafts magazine years ago.

I am loving that little typewriter.

Winter Inspired Mood Board - SBC

It is December and it is time to kick off this month's challenges off at Scrapbook Challenges with a mood board. I love the colors of this one, it is super inspiring.

The board inspired me to scrap this old black and white photos of my grandparents and their friends at a food convention.
Suppliers: pattern paper (Scrap Works and My Mind's Eye), stickers (American Crafts), die cuts (Teresa Collins), journaling card (My Mind's Eye), enamel dots (My Mind's Eye), washi tape (My Mind's Eye and Doodlebug Design), doilies (Doodlebug Designs) and pen (Project Life)

Here are a few close-ups, as you will see I kept it super simple.

I wished I scrapped this photo sooner tough since my mom is drawing a blank on who the last couple in the photo are. This should reminds us all to take notes on photos on the four Ws (who. what, when and where).

A Toothy Grin - SBC Pattern Challenge

I am doing a little catch up on October reveal from Scrapbook Challenges. This was for October's pattern challenge.

Plaid is one pattern I love to wear in the Fall. It feels so cozy and timeless. In scrapbooking I don't have much in my stash for one reason or another but I think the main reason is that I rarely scrap fall theme pages. So I dug deep in my few mini 6"x 6" paper pads to hunt down the perfect fall plaid to scrap this cute photo of my brother.

Supplies: pattern paper (Simple Stories, Crate Paper and Echo Park), stickers (K & Co., Echo Park, American Crafts and My Mind's Eye)chipboard (Crate Paper), washi tape (We R Memory Keepers), mist (Studio Calico), flair (Basic Grey), journaling card (Project Life), marker (Faber-Castell) and doily (Doodlebug Design)

This page doesn't have any specific story but I couldn't resist scrapping this cute photo of my brother. So enjoy the close-up of the details.

As I am typing this out I realize a little alien element is appearing on this page. I guess it fell onto the page when I was taken the photos. I love how it looks so I need to glue that little guy down.

2015 Carvings

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Mine could have been a little better. I am currently under the weather and my dog is sick too. Wednesday he woke us up at 4;30 running a muck barking and I saw blood on his mouth. Took him to the vet and was told he had a seizure. He also has a high white blood count which means he has some kind of bacterial infection so he on meds. Plus, since he has been having such a hard time keeping food down he has to have yogurt 4 times a day and pepcid complete pill every time he eats his dog food.

Since I think someone should be home with Buster my Black Friday shopping will have to be done from the web.

Now, onto the flashback Friday sketch reveal from Scrapbook Challenges.
http://scrapbookchallenges.com/sbc-blog/

Here is my take on it. I ended up scrapping this year's pumpkin carvings.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Authentique and Echo Park), washi tape (We R Memory Keepers), twine (Timeless Twine), doily (Doodlebug Design), stickers (Authentique and EK Success), wood veneers (Studio Calico) button (American Crafts), brad (My Mind's Eye), tags (Elle's Studio and Chic Tags), transparency (K & Co.), gem (Queen & Co.)

Here are a couple of close up shots.  Yes there was a Minion pumpkin.

I kept this part short since it is almost midnight as I am typing this and I am waiting for  some of the online sale to start. Sudio Calico and Elle's Studio here I come.

Farmers Blooms - SBC #460

It is the start of a new week and for like most people this week is going to busy. It is a tad busier for me since today is my dad's birthday.

Today's Scrapbook Challenges sketch reveal is #460. I love the starburst in it.

For this page I knew I wanted to use a bright photo.   There is not much of a story to the flowers just something my dad wanted to pick up for my mom at one of the many Farmer's Market outings this summer.
Supplies: cardstock (The paper Studio), pattern paper (Echo Park, My Mind's Eye and Crate Paper), washi tape (My Mind's Eye and Doodlebug Designs), stamps (Studio G and EK Success), chipboard (Prima), die cuts (Basic Grey), stickers (Basic Grey and American Crafts), ink (Momento and Close to my Heart), sequins (Studio Calico), gelato (Faber-Castell)

The starburst was a little tricky to master but thanks to washi tape it hides all wonky cuts and pen lines.

I first started this on a white sheet of cardstock but I started adding all the embellishments and papers I was hating that stark white. I ended up taking some flower stamps and stamped it in three different inks. Then took gelatos and colored the background paper. I think it turned out great and was a perfect way to turn a page I was not liking into something that is so cheery,

Fall Mood Challenge @ SBC

I am not one who is drawn too mood boards. I always find myself digging deep into my stash just to find that perfect color that is depicted in the board. However, this month's challenge over at Scrapbook Challenges spoke to me and I knew I had to do it.
Here is how it inspired me.

Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio and American Crafts), pattern paper (The Robin's Nest, Echo Park and Bazzil Basics), washi tape (Scotch Brand and We R Memory Keepers), flair (Basic Grey), doily (Doodlebug Design), stamps (Karen Foster), ink (Momento), embossing folder (Tim Holtz), embossing machine (Sizzix), journaling cards (Project Life), markers (Spectrum Noir), paint (Smooch), trim (?), pen (Project Life) and electronic die cutter, cartridge and software (Cricut).

Of course, I found a mood board I loved and I had to search for a photo to use. I ended up using a week in the life photo I took a few month's ago. I journaled about my favorite fall things, apples and pumpkins.

Love That Bottle - SBC 442

Remember me? I am the girl that shares her work on this blog, who set up a weekly routing on posting and who epicly failed at it three weeks ago.  I am happy to say that this week I am remedying that problem. To kick that off, I am posting this week's sketch reveal from Scrapbook Challenges.
The sketch #442 is a great one to eliminate some of those odd scraps that we scrappers like to hold on to for something special.
Here is my take on it.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Fancy Pants Designs, Studio Calico card kit paper pad and Glitz Designs), doily (Doodlebug Design), stickers (Jillibean Soup and My Mind's Eye), twine (Timeless Twine), stitching template (American Crafts), mists (Tattered Angels), pen (Project Life) and washi tape (Scotch Brand).

I love to add a little extra depth to my flat alphas by just outline them with a 05 pen.

Thanks for dropping by and I am sure there will be more posts. I am thinking about adding some food posts.
