BB2U - Featuring a Galaxy Background

Last night, I was in the mood to try a new technique that I have been seeing some online friends doing. Since I knew for my style I need to do it in a small amount which was great so I didn't feel like I wasted my time if I ruined it since I wasn't using the right items. This card I am about to share uses the "Galaxy" background technique and the "CAS(E) this sketch #212

Here is my take on this sketch.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio and My Mind's Eye), watercolor crayons (Design Memory Craft), punches (EK Success and We R Memory Keepers), stamp (CASual Fridays), stamp ink (Tsukineko), mist (Tattered Angels), brad (My Mind's Eye) and salt.

I love the frame punch board from We R Memory Keepers. I seem to be using it on a lot of my projects.

To create this pattern paper with the watercolor crayon and black mist. While it was still wet I added salt to the top and let it dried. Once it dried I brushed off the salt. It doesn't look like the galaxy which is because of error on my part but I do love the look of this.

The Color of Love

This week, I think I finally found the happy balance of "work" and just for me crafting. I figured out the best way for me at the moment is to do "etsy product" work during the day which allows my evenings free to do some computer work, board games or creating for me, dt work or publication. In other words, I think my blogging might be more active this month than it has been.

Today's share is a card I created using a Scrapbook & Cards Today sketch. When I saw this Wednesday's challenge at Simon Says Stamp I thought this card would be perfect for it.
Supplies: cardstock (American Crafts), pattern paper (Pink Paislee and Crate Paper), watercolor crayons ( Design Memory Craft), sequins (SpiegelMom Scraps), wood veneer (Crate Paper), stamps (Concord & 9 and Stampabilities), burlap string (Maya Arts), stamping tool (MISTI), frame punch board (We R Memory KeeperS), stamping ink (Tsukineko)

I have to say I am head-over-heels in love with the way this card came out. I am a huge fan of the Moonstruck collection by Pink Paislee. I think I need to buy a couple more pieces of that line. The watercoloring inside the frame was done freehand.

Here is the complete look of the card with it's matching envelope seal.

Super Cute Card Share

Hi, everyone. I am still here. The only reason I haven't been blogging is that blogger seems super slow so I have lost interst in posting and moved onto other computer work.

I recently bought the cute hugs set from Concord and 9th. I have to say that bear is what sold me on this set. I ended up creating this card for a new challenge site called, Where Creativity Meets C9
Supplies: cardsock (The Paper Studio), stamps (Concord and 9th), stamping ink (Tsukineko), sequins (SpiegleMom Scraps), embossing pad (VersaMark), embossing powder (American Crafts), punches (EK Success), stampin tool (MISTI), and watercolor crayon (Faber-Castell)

The cheelnge was watercolor theme so I broke out the gelatos. I love working with those.

The bear I heat emboss so the watercoloring didn't bleed. Also, when I was heat embossing the bear I took the heat gun and burned the edges of the white cardstock panel.

This is the inside of the card.

Over the weekend, I got to play along with the My Favorite Things "Camp Create". This post is for the awesome ombre challenge
You know me I am in love with ombre and it is so easy to do with watercolor crayons.
Supplies: cardstock (Canvas Home Basics), stamp (Gel-a-tins), ink (Tsukineko), doily (Doodlebug Designs), watercolor crayon (Faber-Castell) and punches (EK Success)

   Here is a closer look.
This card is so simple but is very stunning.

Grandma's Joy - SBC 480

This #480 layout sketch reveal from Scrapbook Challenges is so great that I had to use the fun circles on the background.

See. I pencil sketch the circles on the cardstock and machine stitched them.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics), pattern paper (American Crafts, Echo Park and Crate Paper), doily (Doodlebug Designs), stickers (American Crafts), washi tape (The Paper Studio), stain (Tim Holtz), sewing machine (Singer), tread (Coats & Clark), bakers twine (Bella Creationz), watercolor crayon (Faber-Castell), wood veneers (American Crafts), paint (Americana) and mist (Tattered Angels)

Here is a closer look at this page.

I found that the Echo Park paper was a little too bright for this page so I added distress stain along the edges.

Score - SBC 479

Today's #479 sketch over at Scrapbook Challenges is a super simple one.

Here is my take on it.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio and Bazzill Basics), pattern paper (Basic Grey and Crate Paper), washi tape (Scotch Brand, My Mind's Eye and Studio Calico), sequins (Studio Calico), mist (Heidi Swapp), mask (The Crafter's Workshop), embossing folder (Sizzix), embossing machine (Sizzix), tag (chic Tags), modeling paste (Liquitex), manual die (Spellbinders), die cutter machine (SpellbinderS), flair (Zappy Dots), marker (Faber-Castell) and pen (Project Life)

Here is a closer look.
I wrote out the date in pen first but i didn't like it blended in too puch with the pattern of the tag so I wrote over it in marker to give it more depth.

This badge originally had "football Mom" on it but so I covered "mom" with a piece of washi. Perfect fix for the on;y football theme item in my stash.

Classic Move - SBC #476

Here is my take on it.
Supplies (cardstock (Die Cuts With a View and Bazzill Basics), pattern paper ( Crate Paper, Fancy Pants Designs and American crafts), flair (Basic Grey), enamel dots (My Mind's Eye), chipboard (Maya Road), watercolor pencils (Faber-Castell), wood veneer (American Crafts), squirrel icon (Studio Calico), stickers (American crafts and Studio Calico), mist (Tattered Angels) and pen (Project Life)

This little squirrel was another item I got from Studio Calico and was like what is the world was I going to do with this. I thought this was a cute and fun element to add to this page. I like that I added the camera to it.

Enamel dots makes great dots for bullet point journaling.

The Original Selfie - SBC #FBF

This week's Flashback Friday #237 sketch from Scrapbook Challenges is great when you have a lot of photos.
Here is my take on it. I ended up using some old photo booth photos my mom had back in the 70s.

Supplies (cardstock (Die Cuts With a View), pattern paper (American Crafts, Echo Park and Carta Bella), stickers (American Crafts and My Mind's Eye), washi tape (My Mind's Eye) chipboard (Maya Road), twine (Bella Creationz), stitching template (American Crafts), watercolor crayon (Faber-Castell), punch (We R Memory Keepers), brad (Crate Paper), mist (Tattered Angels), enamel dots (Studio Calico and My Mind's Eye), eletronic die cutter, cartridge and software (Cricut), embossing folder (Moment), ink (Umbrella Crafts), embossing machine (Sizzix), doily (Doodlebug Designs), and pen (Project Life)

I had fun with the title. After all the photo booth was the original selfie.  The "original" die cut was faux letterpressed with an embossing folder and dye ink.

The journaling was just stating who was in each row of photos.

Celebrate Card - SBC Mood Board

This month's mood board challenge over at Scrapbook Challenges is perfect for March, since St. Patty's day is tomorrow.
I ended up creating a card for this challenge since my green stash is super small and I thought going the watercolor route was a great option since it is spring time.
Supplies: cardstock (Studio G), washi tape (Target and Scotch Brand), ink (Close to My Heart), watercolor pencils (Faber-Castell), marker (Faber-Castell), watercolor crayon (Faber-Castell), sequins (Hazel & Ruby), stamp (Deep Red Rubber Stamps), doily (Doodlebug Designs), journaling card (Project Life), tag (American Crafts), twine (Bella Creationz) and hole reinforcement sticker (Meijer)

If you like this card and want to own it hop by my Etsy store and snag it before it is gone. Like many of my items they are one of a kind so once it is gone it is gone for good.

This tag has been in my stash for a super long time and I decided to recolor it with the watercolor crayon to match the theme.
