Little Mister - SBC SS 15

While, I got most of yesterday's things done but there are a couple of things left, like paint those terracotta pots. However, that might be put off still since I don't really want to paint them in the garage if it is rainy.

Today,s Scrapbook Challenge Sizzlin Summer sketch #15 reveal.

I kept is so simple on this baby page of my uncle.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics and American Crafts), pattern paper (DCWV), sequins (SpiegleMom Scraps), cork shapes (SpiegleMom Scraps), embroidery floss (DCM), stitching template (American Crafts), stickers (American Crafts)

I love the hand stitching on this page. It is fitting for a baby layout,

There is Always Time for Cake - SBC Liftapalooza

Here is the inspiration piece from Stacia that Scrapbook Challenges  shared for this scraplift challenge.

Here is my take. I used items all from one collection since I know how Stacia works

Supplies: cardstock (Die Cuts With a View), pattern paper (American Crafts), die cuts (American Crafts), wood dots (American Crafts), stickers (American Crafts), watercolor crayon (Faber-Castell) and mist (Tattered Angels and Ranger)

As you can tell I am still loving this True Stories collection by Shimelle Lain. I think it is perfect for birthday pages. I cut one of the quote papers down to strips to make it the title of the page. This allowed it not to compete with the photos since it was broken down. I recolored the pink wording with watercolor.

Here is a closer look at the corner cluster. I love that it kind of looks like a banner,

Destination Adventure - SBC 475

It is Monday and that means it is time for another sketch reveal over at Scrapbook Challenges. This week's sketch #475 is super simple but is still great.
This was the fastest 12 x 12 page I ever created. I am head-over-heels in love with this page.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics), pattern paper (Crate Paper and Die Cuts With a View), journaling card (Project Life), washi tape (The Paper Studio), chipboard (Pink Paislee and Studio Calico), stickers (October Afternoon, Simple Stories and Studio Calico), doily (Studio Calico) and mist (Heidi Swapp),

In December, I got a pack of the Atlas chipboard in a grab bag during the black Friday sale at Studio Calico. I was about to put them in the sell/giveaway pile because I don't have any travel plans of scrapping but I am glad I kept them because they were perfect for this page of my Uncle and cousin.

Love Because That is what Awesome is Made of - SBC #465

Last Monday's reveal for Scrapbook Challenges was based on this sketch.

Here is my take on it.I have to be honest but I  was hating how this page was working but I am glad with the end results. I blame it on the fact I had a month break from scrapping when I started it so I was not in the right mood.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio and Bazzil), pattern paper (Studio Calico, Crate Paper, and American Crafts), stickers (American Crafts), doily (Doodlebug), die cut (was a Fiskars freebie), journaling card (Project Life), washi tape (Scotch Brand), electronic die cutter and software (Cricut) and diy enamel dots.

Here are a few close ups. That "Love" circle is actually a die cut I got in a Paper Crafts magazine years ago.

I am loving that little typewriter.

At One Time... - SBC Reveal

Happy Thanksgiving to all my US friends. Today, is the day where we reflect on what we are thankful for but everyday we should do this.
Here are just a couple things I am thankful for:
  • For my family and friends because I would honestly go bonkers if I didn't have any of these amazing people in my life.
  • The amazing people I know in the medical field that have helped me this year with the eye stuff.

I thought today would be a perfect day to post this past Scrapbook Challenges Flashback Friday sketch was based on sketch #361.  When it made its original reveal I ended up not doing it because (1) I hate double page spreads and (2) I had no idea on what photos I could of used for all those spots.

As you can tell, I found the perfect photos to use and the funny thing I had these photos when the sketch made it first appearance. Plus, I think I am learning to like double page spreads since I treat each side as it own pages by changing up the background paper.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (American Crafts, Basic Grey, Echo Park, My Mind's Eye and Fancy Pants Designs), stickers (American Crafts, Jillibean Soup and Studio Calico), washi tape (Scotch Brands), chipboard (Prima), wood veneers (American Crafts and Studio Calico), journaling card (My Mind's Eye), file folder (Webster's Pages), stamp ( EK Success, K & Co. and American Crafts), ink (Momenta), electronic die cutter, cartridge and software (Cricut) and diy enamel dots

Here are a few close-ups of some of the design elements.

This is were my family use to live and owned it. We moved from it 16 years ago and sold it because the neighborhood was unsafe. 12 years after we sold it on a land contract we started to find out bad news and was wondering how to get our money from the new owner. We were looking at to losing the property because of taxes and God answered a prayer by sending a guy to our house one Sunday afternoon saying he wanted to buy the contract from us.

I double matted the center photo to make it pop and plus it was the best photo I found of the building online.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Americana Decor

This month's theme at Embellish Me Happy is all about USA celebrations or if you are outside of the USA it is about celebrations.
I ended up creating a paint cork sign.  I cut the letters out of cardstock and traced them onto the cork. I then cut them out with a craft knife. That part take a long time.
Supplies: cork flooring tile, acrylic paint die-cuts letters twine (Timeless Twine) and hot glue.

I used glossy accents to glue the twine along the edge of the cork.
