Simple Sketches Kick Off

I am excited for today because today is the first sketch reveal for Simple Sketches. Every week there will be a new sketch revealed.
Here is this week's sketch.
Here is my take on it.
Supplies: cardstock ( The Paper Studio), patter paper (Crate Paper), stickers Fancy Pants Designs and Simple Stories), twine (Timeless Twine), mask (The Crafter's Workshop), mist (Ranger), gelatoes (Faber Castell),  diy enameled dots, and doily.
Be sure to stop by SS to see what the other designer team members created and to link up your own layout made with this sketch.

Guest of TRN

Today, I am back on The Robin's Nest blog as this month's guest designer.  I created a trio of mini notebooks that are perfect for a Back to School party.

On this on I covered the front with the special delivery paper, classy ribbon, outlined the special delivery sticker with mini dew drops and added a cute little bow.
I used the reverse side of the Daisy Stripe Teal for the front of this book. I then added the gold glitter paisley paper, stripe french vanilla and winter glitter snowflakes for the banners and topped it off with the black tear dew drops.
On this one I kept it simple. i covered the front with daisy teal stripe. I added the glittered hearts but used 3-d foam squares under the top heart to make more of a statement.

Time Flies

I can't believe I have neglected my little blog this month. I have been super busy making layouts for the Sizzling Summer Sketches for Scrapbook Challenges. Along with our usual Monday sketch reveal there has been a new sketch reveal every weekday this month.
I also had to make a hard decision too. I decided to step down from the ABAC team. I am grateful to Clara for allowing me to join the team since I had no design team experience. I am also thankful for Susan to taking over as the head of the whole thing and to all my fellow team members.
Now, onto some other news that is good. I am going to be on two new design teams, Simple Sketches and Zappy Dots. Simples Sketches is a sketch blog that offers great sketches that can work with all scrapbooker styles. Zappy Dots offer Flair badges that can be changed into magnetic jewelry or magnets.
Since, I can't close a post without posting photo I want to show you what was I saw at a bank's parking lot a couple of days ago. I counted a eleven wild turkeys.

The photo was taken at 7:45 in the morning.

Lunch Notes

Today's twine project is perfect since kids a going back to school soon. I created lunchbox notes.
I took one 12"x12" piece of cardstock and cut it to 3"x4" for the bases of these cards. Then, I got busy decorating them.
On most of them I stitched with the twine.
On some of them I just glued the twine to them.
All the twine is from Timeless Twine
I love making these cards because you can use them anytime and for anybody.
If you check out the Timeless Twine blog you will be able to see the other half of the cards I made from this sheet of cardstock.
Thanks for stopping by.

Back to School Hop at Embellish Me Happy

Thank you so much for joining our first ever back to school blog hop on Embellish Me Happy. My name is Mandi Holmes and I am a DT member on EMH. You just left Erica Rose Creates blog and wow was that challenge great! If you for any reason arrived on this site from anywhere else other than the blog listed above please click the link and start from the beginning. There you will be starting the blog hop from the beginning.
Here are a few rules for this blog hop this month:
The hop will run from August 13th - September 8th. You will upload your creations for my challenge on the Embellish Me Happy Blog Via In Linkz and name your challenge back to school Washi Tape( then the name of the challenge your hosting)
Please make sure your creation is uploaded by September 8th 12am EST.
All creations must be new and not be combined with any other challenges.
Please make sure you adhere to all the rules of this challenge, the general hop rules and the challenge rules.
You may participate in all challenges for the hop; you will get one entry point per challenge entered during the hop.

Now here is the fun part the challenge: Use washi tape on your school themed project.
I used it on pencils and the matching notebooks. Since the tape is so thin you can don't have to remove it from the pencils to sharpen them.
I covered a composition notebook with shipping paper and decorated with 6x6 papers.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), paper (shipping paper), pattern paper (Crate Paper), washi tape ( Queen & Co. and 7 Gypsies), stickers (Echo Park), brad (Crate Paper), twine (Timeless Twine), pencils, eyelet and doily.
Here is a close-up of the layers.
I even covered the back.
I also decorated a mini notebook. I added a piece of elastic on the spine to hold the pencil.
Supplies: shipping paper , pattern paper (Fancy Pants), washi tape (Studio 112), stickers (Fancy PAnts Designs, Echo Park, Bo Bunny and Carta Bella),  doily and pencil.
Here is another close-up. I fussy cute the butterflies from the Bo Bunny stickers.

Here is the back.

As you can see washi tape is easy to use and can be used on a lot o different things.
Now that you have the challenge from my blog please head on over to Toccara

Dress-up Pen and Notebook

Today's projects features our newest Sorbet collection. As many of my blog readers know that I am addicted to notebooks and when it has a matching pen I am completely nuts about it.So what I am about to share is drool worthy.
Supplies: pattern paper (Nikki Silvis), twine (Timeless Twine), eyelets (Eyelet Outlet), brad (Crate Paper), doily, butterflies, and pen.
I took a pen that screws together and covered most of it with the Razzleberry twine. I use my favorite glue (Glossy Accents) to adhere the twine to the pen.
The Watermelon twine was used as a closure that wraps around a brad.
I used the Key Lime twine to sew the pages and cover together. It is is used to create the bookmarks.
I am in love with this and hope it inspired you to add twine to a plain pen and/or notebook.  Don't forget about our current challenge that I created the sketches for.
Thanks for stopping by and have a twine-filled day.
