Goodbye Layout

I am sure I am not the only one who created a layout based on a sketch for a challenge and then lose where the said sketch came from.  that is what happen to me and it took me about 15 minutes to track down the source. This sketch came from Stuck? Feb. 1st challenge.

I ended up documenting saying "goodbye" to 2016.
Supplies: cardstock (My Mind's Eye), pattern paper (American Crafts), stickers (American Crafts, Jillibean Soup, and Authentique), doily (Doodlebug Designs), die cuts (Simple Stories and SpiegelMom Scraps), journaling cards (Making Memories and Project Life), punch (We R Memory Keepers), washi tape (The Paper Studio), wood veneer (American Crafts), chipboard (Simple Stories), enamel dots (My Mind's Eye), typewriter (We R Memory Keepers), and pen (Project Life)

Here is the little title cluster.
I did two types of journaling on here. The visible is the "fluff" journaling about how my family celebrated and the hidden journaling is how the year treated us.

Spilling the Beans

A few months ago, I got an email from Shimelle and her team contacted me to be a guest designer. I was super excited and couldn't wait to get started on the assignment, which just happened to be about a local landmark and using arrows. Easy task, since I knew what I wanted to scrap. I waited for a snowless day to go and take pics of the historical village that is a few minutes away from my house. I love the old buildings and all the history  they hold.

Here are just a few close-ups shots of the layout. Be sure to head over to Shimelle's blog to see the full reveal.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basic), textured paper (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (American Crafts and Crate Paper), vellum (Seven Paper), stickers (American Crafts, Authentique, and Studio Calico), wood veneer (American Crafts), journaling card (Project Life), doily (The Paper Studio), twine (Bella Creationz), sequins (Studio Calico), mist (Tattered Angels), chipboard (Um Wow Studio), washi tape (We R Memory Keepers), stitching template (American Crafts), and pen (Project Life)

I did hidden journaling since there were a lot of facts about the windmill.

The Simpler Times - SBC 478

This sketch reveal for Scrapbook Challenges was another one I created. I have to say I so much prefer drawing sketches by hand that on the computer. I am happy that Brynn- Marie is able to clean the sketches up on the computer because I am sure you would have a very hard time figuring out my handmade sketch.

Here is my take on it.

Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics), pattern paper (Photo Play, Heidi Swapp, Graphic 45 and Basic Grey) stickers (American Crafts and Authentique), wood veneer (Target), embossing folders (Echo Park), inks (Tim Holtz and Close to My Heart), enamel dot (My Mind's Eye), doily (Studio Calico), border punch (EK Success), embossing machine (Sizzix), electronic die cutter, cartridge and software (Cricut), pen (Project Life) and glossy accents (Ranger)

I am not sure if it is just a lazy thing or I just like the added interest but I always dot my electronic die cut "I"s with an enamel dot. I would like to believe it is the interest but I am pretty sure it is laziness since I don't want to bother gluing down that teeny tiny dot.

I am loving these Christmas/ winter theme embossing folders my Mom picked out for me. I am shocked she actually picked them out since I never showed her these. Using the faux letterpress technique sure makes the impression stand out.

Don't forget to link up your creations on the Mr. Linky at Scrapbook Challenges to have a chance at winning this month's prize.

Celebrate The Memories - SBC #FBF

This week's flashback Friday #197 sketch from Scrapbook Challenges is a great one. I love the simplicity of it.

Here is my take on it. I used less photos but added a lot more layers. I love layers because they allow me to use up all those little scraps that I have been holding onto for years, I think all the scraps on this pages is about 8 years old.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics, Canvas Home Basics and The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Canvas Home Basics, Crate Paper, Glitz Designs and Karen Foster), stickers ( Studio Calico and Authentique), flair (Basic Grey), wood veneers (American Crafts), watercolor crayon (Faber-Castell), doily (Doodlebug Designs), enamel dots (My Mind's Eye), die cutters (Cricut and Spellbinders), manual die (Spellbinders), cartridge and design software (Cricut),

I can't believe I didn't have a manual die machine before. I use it almost on every project. Now, I need to get more dies.

Since the beauty of wood veneers are easy to alter I colored them with gelatos to match the color theme of the balloons at the party.

2015 Carvings

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Mine could have been a little better. I am currently under the weather and my dog is sick too. Wednesday he woke us up at 4;30 running a muck barking and I saw blood on his mouth. Took him to the vet and was told he had a seizure. He also has a high white blood count which means he has some kind of bacterial infection so he on meds. Plus, since he has been having such a hard time keeping food down he has to have yogurt 4 times a day and pepcid complete pill every time he eats his dog food.

Since I think someone should be home with Buster my Black Friday shopping will have to be done from the web.

Now, onto the flashback Friday sketch reveal from Scrapbook Challenges.
http://scrapbookchallenges.com/sbc-blog/

Here is my take on it. I ended up scrapping this year's pumpkin carvings.

The 2015 Marvelous Costumes - SBC #FBF

I can't believe it is Friday already. Where did the week go? Today, is a #flashback Friday sketch reveal at Scrapbook Challenges.  and it is a double page spread, which means it was perfect me to scrap a holiday.

Here is my take on it.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Authentique and Echo Park), journaling card (Project Life), stickers (Authentique, American Crafts and My Mind's Eye), washi tape (Scotch Brand, We R Memory Keepers and Target), wood veneer (Studio Calico and American Crafts), twine (Timeless Twine), bobby pin (Studio Calico), doily (Doodlebug Design),  stitching template (American Crafts), diy enamel dots, border punch (Ek Success).and border transparency (K & Co.).

I am loving that I scrapped this year's Halloween already.

They story behind the Marvel costumes all started with Buster. Buster is deaf so he never looks at the movie screen when we watch movies but he was interested in it only when we watched the Marvel movies. The first one he watched was an action scene from the second installment of Captain America. Because I always put a lot of time in Buster's costume I never do too much with mine. They is a female Avenger character called the Scarlet Witch so I dressed up as a witch that had scarlet accents on the hat.

I love the wood veneer cameras that are from Studio Calico but this one just does not appeal to me as a camera, even though it is. I think it just looks like a piece of toast.

The Carvings of 2014

In 17 days is the first day of spring and here I am sharing a Autum page, while actually Halloween one. I am still not big into Halloween so I keep that stash very low as to two - three different paper collections.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio and American Crafts), pattern paper (Authentique, My Mind's Eye and Echo Park), washi tape (We R Memory Keepers and My Mind's Eye), stickers (Jolee's, Authentique, American crafts and Elle's Studio), twine (Timeless Twine), stitching template (American Crafts), mist (Tattered Angels), doily (Doodlebug Design), punch (We R Memory Keepers), mask (The Crafter's Workshop), modeling paste and trim

For the last couple pf years I have gotten into doing more elaborate pumpkin carvings. Each year, I create a layout to document my new creations. Even though I spend way too long cutting them out I love that my family enjoys looking at them.

It has been awhile since I shared my layouts for Scrapbook Challenges.  The pages I am posting today are for three the last three sketch reveals.

Meow - Child's Play Challenges

This week, is 1 of 2 reveals for Child's Play Challenges for this month. The theme for this is all about the famous Cat in the Hat
The no brainer plan of my was to scrap the only photo I have of our old neighbor's cat who I sat for every summer. Somehow, that photo disappeared and I was left scratching my head on trying to think of a new topic. Next, topic was an old halloween photo of I dressed as a cat. That didn't cut it either there was no such pic. My plan C was to take a photo of said cat costume and scrap. That is what I did.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Echo Park, My Mind's Eye and Authentique), journaling card (Project Life), mist (Heidi Swapp), chipboard (Studio G), stickers (Me & My Big Ideas and American Crafts), twine (Timeless Twine), gems (Prima), washi tape (Scotch), mask (The Crafter's Workshop), doily and diy enamel dots.

Here is a closer look of the journaling.
I love how the gold mist looks on this page. It gives it another pattern without it being so in your face on top of that busy background paper.
Also, I am finding out that I might be addicted to the project life cards. I love to add them to my layers.
