See the Beauty My Lovely

This is the first day of the reveal of my stash busting kit challenge that I posted here.  I ended up creating this sweet school page with a photo of my mom back in 1964.
Supplies: pattern paper (Crate Paper and Fancy Pants Designs), stickers (Fancy Pants Designs, and American Crafts), chipboard (Crate Paper), trim (Heidi Swapp), large alphabet (Scenic Route)  journaling cards (Becky Higgins), washi tape (The Paper Studio), sequins (SpiegleMom Scraps)  frame punch board (We R Memory Keepers), cut-apart (Pretty Little Studio)

The title for this page was inspired by one of the flair badges that I had in the kit. The polka dot letters are super old as in the company is no longer around. I think these have been in my stash untouched for 10 years.
Earlier this year I got this Micro-tip pair of scissors and all I have to say they got me into liking fussy-cutting. For the flower cluster, I fussy-cut some flowers from the "Beautiful Day" line from Fancy Pants and popped some up with foam square adhesive.

Come back tomorrow for my second-page reveal.

Making The Grade - SBC SS 13

This is the last week for the month long event Sizzlin Summer at Scrapbook Challenges. Today's #13 sketch is one that I created.

Here is my take on it. I ended up scrapping an class photo of my dad.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper studio), pattern paper (American Crafts and Fancy Pants), stickers (Simple Stories, American Crafts, Heidi Swapp, Crate Paper,Photo Play and Fancy Pants), washi tape (Studio Calico), string (American Crafts), transparency (Studio Calico), wood veneer (Freckled Fawn)journaling card (American Crafts) and mist (Heidi Swapp)

I love all the layers I did on this. It allowed me to use some of the odd and ends of stickers.
The string I used on the paper tags came from some metal rimmed tags from American Crafts, which I used the tags on a different layout but I didn't need the strings.

Make A Wish - SBC #482

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I sure did on National Scrapbook Day and pampering my mother on Mother's Day.

This week's Scrapbook Challenges sketch reveal is #482.

I ended up scrapping only one photo for this birthday page of my brother from 10-ish years ago.
Supplies: cardstock (American Crafts and Canvas Corp Brands), pattern paper (Fancy Pants Designs, Crate Paper, and American Crafts), stickers (American Crafts and Studio Calico), wood veneers (Basic Grey and Studio Calico), twine (Bella Creationz), stitching template (American Crafts), die cut (Kaisercraft), washi tape (My Mind's Eye), mist (Tattered Angels), pen (Project Life) and manual die (Spellbinders)

Having the Best of Times - SBC Liftapalooza

Today's lift at Scrapbook Challenges is on Karen.

Here is my take on it. As you can tell I followed the original page very closely. The misting in the original piece really inspired me.  For the background pattern I used a assortment of watercolor crayons, mists and inks with two different masks.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics), pattern paper (Studio Calico and Fancy Pants Designs), stickers (American Crafts), masks (Hazel & Ruby and Studio Calico), die cuts (Basic Grey and Jillibean Soup), manual die (Studio Calico), die cutter (Spellbinders), watercolor crayon (Faber-Castell), ink (Stampabilities),mist (Tattered Angels), sequins (Studio Calico), border punch (Fiskars), washi tape (The Paper Studio)

Here are a few close-ups. I didn't have the letter "A" in the thickers so I took an "N" and trimmed a piece off and uses it as my cross section for the "A".

This quote has been hanging around in my stash for a while now and I thought it was perfect for this page since I didn't have anything to say.

Classic Move - SBC #476

Here is my take on it.
Supplies (cardstock (Die Cuts With a View and Bazzill Basics), pattern paper ( Crate Paper, Fancy Pants Designs and American crafts), flair (Basic Grey), enamel dots (My Mind's Eye), chipboard (Maya Road), watercolor pencils (Faber-Castell), wood veneer (American Crafts), squirrel icon (Studio Calico), stickers (American crafts and Studio Calico), mist (Tattered Angels) and pen (Project Life)

This little squirrel was another item I got from Studio Calico and was like what is the world was I going to do with this. I thought this was a cute and fun element to add to this page. I like that I added the camera to it.

Enamel dots makes great dots for bullet point journaling.

Currently Happy

Last week, I got to play along with the Scrap Our Stash #39 challenge. I thought this was a fun challenge and it actually worked with the scrap pile I am currently trying to get rid of. Plus, the extra bonus I was able to rake up quite a few calivinball points over at Get It Scrapped with this one page.

For my inspiration I use the colors in the challenge photo and the banner.
Supplies: cardstock (Die Cuts With a View and Bazzill Basics), pattern paper (Fancy  Pants Designs, Basic Grey, Carta Bella, American Crafts and Echo Park), ink (Prima), stickers (American Crafts), brads (The Paper Studio), embossing folder (American Crafts), washi tape (Little B), electronic die cutter, cartridge and software (Cricut)

The "currently" was the negative I already had use on another page. I love getting double duty out of my cuts. I am loving the little metal flower cluster. Those are brads that I have had in my stash longer than I would like to admit.

2016 Valentine Cards - SBC Pattern Challenge

There is no secret in my family that I love the chevron pattern . I have home decor items, clothing and of course paper craft items with this great pattern. This month's pattern challenge over at Scrapbook Challenges is all about the chevron.

Here is my take on it.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics), pattern paper (Fancy Pants Designs, Basic Grey and Close to My Heart), stickers (American Crafts, My Mind's Eye and Glitz Designs), wood veneers (Crate Paper), epoxy wood veneer dot (American Crafts), sequins (Hobby Lobby), journaling cards (Project Life and a Creating Keepsake free printable), diecuts (Studio Calico and Teresa Collins), punch (We R Memory Keepers), bakers twine (Bella Creationz), doily (Doodlebug Designs), stamp (American Crafts and Jenni Bowlin), ink (Tsukineko and Umbrella Crafts), gems (Studio Calico) and washi tape (Hobby Lobby).

Here are a few close ups. The title card was one I had in my stash that I printed years ago when Creating Keepsakes online community was called Club CK.  I miss those days.

To create the tab on the hidden journaling spot all I did was punch the top with the envelope punch board.

I might have loved the wood veneers from the Kiss Kiss line from Crate Paper so much that I bought another set after Valentine's Day. I couldn't resist the $1.19 price that my grocery store was selling them for.

Just Be You - SBC #471

Last week's Scrapbook Challenges sketch #471  but with dealing with a sick dog over the weekend which led to saying bye to him that Monday I never got it onto the Scrapbook Challenges blog or shared here.
Here is my take. The page is of my dad when he was about 20.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzil Basics), pattern paper (Fancy Pants Designs and Glitz Designs), die cuts and tags (Studio Calico and American Crafts), chipboard (Studio Calico), wood veneers (American Crafts), stickers (Prima, American Crafts and Studio Calico), washi tape (Scotch Brand), marker (Faber-Castell), and pen (Project Life)

   Here are a few close-ups.

I love the canvas alphabet stickers from Prima. They are super easy to color to match your project.

Today if in Doubt CRAFT - SBC Challenge

This month's challenge is a new type for Scrapbook Challenges. This one you have to get in touch with your inner artist and be messy. It all has to do with stencils.

This page was highlighting the short run I had on a planner team for SHE Glossy. I wish they didn't fold because I really loved being part of a planner team.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Echo Park Paper, Fancy Pants Designs, Studio Calico and American Crafts) doily (Doodlebug Designs), stencils (Studio Calico), mist (Heidi Swapp and Tattered Angels), stamp (American Crafts), ink (Memento), journaling card (Project Life) photo filter frame (American Crafts), sewing machine and black thread.

Here is a close up of the hidden journaling. Lately, I have been playing with my print writing. I am trying to change it up a bit since I don't like the way it looks like. Odd thing, is that I love my cursive writing.

56 in 2015 - SBC

When I first say this sketch I knew it would be perfect for an upcoming birthday my dad was having. I ended up making this page before I had photos. This upcoming sketch is #461 for Scrapbook Challenges.

Here is how it came out.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Echo Park, Fancy Pants and American Crafts), stickers (American Crafts and My Mind's Eye), die cuts (My Mind's Eye), wood veneers (American Crafts), washi tape (We R Memory Keepers and My Mind's Eye), diy enamel dots and pen (Project Life).

I even did the tile work before the photos. I knew I wanted photos of him and his gifts so I knew I was going to have at least 4 good photos to choose from.
