Premade Halloween Layout

Linked up at Paper Issues

I can't believe it has been six months since I joined the Embellish Me Happy design team. This is my last EMH post as a member.
For this month's theme is Halloween. For my family we keep it low key. I make a costume for Buster, my mom and myself. I make some candy and that is about it. Even though we don't go big I still want to capture those memories. I ended up creating a scrapbook page so I just have to add a photo at the end of the month.
Supplies pattern paper (ScrapWorks, The Paper Studio and Authentique), sticker (Jolee's and Authentique, tags (Coreinations,? and 7 Gypsies), twine (Timeless Twine),mask (Studio Calico), mist (Studio Calico and Heidi Swapp),wood veneer (Feckle Fawn), paint (Clearsnap), Stickles, stamp (Jenni Bowlin Merchantile), gems (Eyelet Outlet), decoative tape (Target) and diy enamled dots
I usually don't like my Halloween pages but the reason why was I never had a paper for this hoilday. I ended up buying a collection this summer and boy does that make a difference when you have ther right supplies.
Be sure to link up you Halloween theme projet here for a chance at our monthly prize.

DIY's at Embellished Me Happy

This month's challenge over at EMH is all about diy embellishments. I love making my own embellishments because (1) ithey often add more charater to my projects and (2) I am cheap.
For today's diy is not one I came up with but a friend of mine saved me from tossing out all of my pony beads that I had when I was little doing bead crafts.
Enamled dots are all the rage in the scrapbooking industry right now but those things are expensive for a pack. Since I have not found them anywhere by me at knew I need to make my own.
All I did was place some pony beads on nonstick foil and baked at 400 for 10-15 minutes., depends on how big you want the dots
Note: Since the smell of melting plastic is nasty I did this outside on my porch in a toaster oven.
After a couple of afternoons of doing this I ended up with this.
Here is a card I created that used those dots.
Supplies: pattern paper: (Crate Paper), twine (Timeless Twine), stickers (American Crafts and Lily Bee Designs), ink (Quick Quotes), washi tape and stitch template (Ameican Crafts)
I used twine to stitched those arrows.

Back to School Hop at Embellish Me Happy

Thank you so much for joining our first ever back to school blog hop on Embellish Me Happy. My name is Mandi Holmes and I am a DT member on EMH. You just left Erica Rose Creates blog and wow was that challenge great! If you for any reason arrived on this site from anywhere else other than the blog listed above please click the link and start from the beginning. There you will be starting the blog hop from the beginning.
Here are a few rules for this blog hop this month:
The hop will run from August 13th - September 8th. You will upload your creations for my challenge on the Embellish Me Happy Blog Via In Linkz and name your challenge back to school Washi Tape( then the name of the challenge your hosting)
Please make sure your creation is uploaded by September 8th 12am EST.
All creations must be new and not be combined with any other challenges.
Please make sure you adhere to all the rules of this challenge, the general hop rules and the challenge rules.
You may participate in all challenges for the hop; you will get one entry point per challenge entered during the hop.

Now here is the fun part the challenge: Use washi tape on your school themed project.
I used it on pencils and the matching notebooks. Since the tape is so thin you can don't have to remove it from the pencils to sharpen them.
I covered a composition notebook with shipping paper and decorated with 6x6 papers.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), paper (shipping paper), pattern paper (Crate Paper), washi tape ( Queen & Co. and 7 Gypsies), stickers (Echo Park), brad (Crate Paper), twine (Timeless Twine), pencils, eyelet and doily.
Here is a close-up of the layers.
I even covered the back.
I also decorated a mini notebook. I added a piece of elastic on the spine to hold the pencil.
Supplies: shipping paper , pattern paper (Fancy Pants), washi tape (Studio 112), stickers (Fancy PAnts Designs, Echo Park, Bo Bunny and Carta Bella),  doily and pencil.
Here is another close-up. I fussy cute the butterflies from the Bo Bunny stickers.

Here is the back.

As you can see washi tape is easy to use and can be used on a lot o different things.
Now that you have the challenge from my blog please head on over to Toccara

Americana Decor

This month's theme at Embellish Me Happy is all about USA celebrations or if you are outside of the USA it is about celebrations.
I ended up creating a paint cork sign.  I cut the letters out of cardstock and traced them onto the cork. I then cut them out with a craft knife. That part take a long time.
Supplies: cork flooring tile, acrylic paint die-cuts letters twine (Timeless Twine) and hot glue.

I used glossy accents to glue the twine along the edge of the cork.

At Embellish Me Happy this month's challenge is a color combo and banner challenge.
I choose this color scheme. I love the rich tones.

Texture and Circular Challenge

This month's technique challenge over at Embellish Me Happy is  to use circles  This is the main challenge but over at EMH we like to make it a little more fun. Here are some ideas that complement this challenge
   1.  Using Texture!  There are so many ways to use texture other than using cardstock that is textured:/  Using glitter, paints, crumbled paper, tearing paper, feathers, twine, stitching, flock, you name it!  See and some of you thought it just stopped at textured cardstock.
   2. In light of Mother's Day I know you all will have plenty of photo's to scrap so Make this your focus for this challenge.  Anything that will represent this day.
   3. Use the colors red and Pink or Just Red or just Pink but you must one of the two colors!

I tackled this challenge head one. If you know my work you know I love texture. I used texture paste on the banners. I added texture with twine, gems, stick pin, trims, etc.  This page is also of my mom. We were celebrating her last birthday at our apartment.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Cosmo Cricket), cards (Webster's Pages and October Afternoon) stickers (American Crafts and Studio Calico), twine (Timeless Twine),decorative tape (Target and Doddle Bug Designs), stamps (EK Success), spray mist (Heidi Swapp), ink (Stampabilites and Quick Quotes) chalk pencils (Pebbles Inc.), gems (The Eyelet Outlet), stick pin and button (Webster's Pages), clothes pin, texture paste (Liquidex) doily and pom-poms,
I love how this page came out it has my favorite products on it and some great pictures. Don't you just love my haircut in the photo. Don't we all have bad haircuts when you were little. I know I so did.
The sponsor for this month is from My Wise Designs. One lucky entrant will get this lovely pack of journaling cards.

Link up you creations here for a chance for the prize.

Newest Challenge Site

I am happy to announce that I am a new challenge site design team. It is called Embellish Me Happy. This challenge site is perfect for Project Life, artist tradings cards, cards, layouts, and altered items. Since, it is late in the month we are revealing the PL and regular challenge today.  Check here for the PL challenge.
The challenge is to create a Monochromatic Layout, or project using any color you like!
You may use a touch of one other color. This color must not be over bearing and take over your main color.
Plus, the is a twist. Use a stamped image/ Digital on your project.
This was the first time I ever used a digital stamp. Let me just say I am hooked. I love them because you can re-size it and you always get a crisp image.
I created a beautiful birthday bag that uses my favorite color, blue,
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (My Mind;s Eye), ink: (Stampin' Up!) digital stamp (The Paper Nest Dolls), stamp (Hero Arts), mist (Ranger), twine (Timeless Twine), sticker (Basic Grey), pom-pom trim, glitter, sequins, paper flowers, gift bag, coloring pencils and chalks
I used this stamp. It also comes in rubber.
I had to add my signature item to this. I love it. Thanks, Heather .
Come play along with us for the chance of winning this

Upload your creations on EMH's blog by May 11th 2013 by 11:59pm EST via Mr. Linky to be in the running for the great sponsor prize.
