WCMD Recap 3 - Hello Card

I didn't forget my WCMD recap, I just have been getting my new laptop set up. Today's card features the only hello theme card that I created on the card making holiday.

Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (American Crafts) die cuts (Pinkfresh Studio, Studio Calico and Pebbles Inc.), manual die (Crafter's Companion) die cutter (Spellbinders)

Here is a side view. You can see this is a 3D card. Most of the cards I share here are available in my Etsy shop (MJ's Kraze)

Here is a closer look at the "box" goodies.

Birthday Cards WCMD Recap 2

Today, I am going to share with you a few of the birthday theme cards that I created on World Card Making Day.  The 3 that I will be sharing with you feature the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

The first one is my type of card, a pop-up explosion box card. This one would be great for a kid's birthday.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics), pattern paper (Simple Stories and American Crafts), stickers (Pretty Little Studio), stamp (CAS-ual Fridays Stamps), ink (Tsukineko)

The nest card would be a great birthday card for her. It is filled with layers.  I based the card on a sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap sketch

Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (American Crafts), journaling spot (My Mind's Eye). stickers (American Crafts), embossing folder (Momenta), stamp (CAS-ual Fridays Stamp), ink (Tsukineko), sequins (SpiegelMom Scraps), twine (My Mind's Eye), embossing machine (Sizzix)

The last card is a super simple card that I was in a hurry to do since my favorite show, Heartland, was about to come on. This was also based on a Sketch~N~Scrap sketch.

Supplies: cardstock (American Crafts and The Paper Studio), washi tape (American Crafts), embossing folder (Momenta), stamp (CAS-ual Fridays Stamps), ink (Tsukineko)

Thanks for stopping by and reading this long, picture heavy post.

Little Missy - SBC SS 16

This Scrapbook Challenges sketch #16 Sizzlin Summer is the final one in the series. This month so went by fast.

Here is my take on it. As you can see I scrapped some baby pics of my mom.
Supplies: pattern paper (American Crafts and Basic Grey), stickers (Basic Grey, American Crafts and Bo Bunny), doilies (Doodlebug Designs), tags (American crafts), sequins (SpiegelMom Scraps) and cork die cuts (SpiegelMom Scraps)

A little mad Thicker cutting doctor made her appearance again. I ended up having to cut "8's" into "S's".
If you want some of these sequins and cork shapes I used on this page head over to SpiegelMom Scraps shop. Don't forget to use coupon code mandi15 for a 15% off discount.

Fine & Dandy @ 6 - SBC #494

I hope everyone enjoyed there weekend. I was busy in my studio/basement creating cards that I posted in the previous posts.

Anyways, here is my take on my sketch I created for Scrapbook Challenges. This is sketch #494.

Here is my take on it.
Supplies: cardstock (American Crafts and The Paper Studio) pattern paper (Fancy Pants Designs), die cuts (Teresa Collins, and American Crafts), stickers (Photo Play). wood veneers (American Crafts), doily (Doodlebug Designs) mist (Heidi Swapp) and pen (Project Life)

Even though this was a boy's page I still used polka dots and a doily. Doilies go perfect for parties.

Here is a closer look at the title work. I used premade die cuts for this. I love the layers.

So Me - SBC Journaling Challenge

I am a big believer that the ones behind the camera need to get in front of the lens every once in awhile. For me that means I usually take selfies or set a timer on my camera. Anyways, this month's journaling challenge at Scrapbook Challenges has to do around your "Me Time".

   Here is my page.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics), pattern paper: Canvas Corp Brand, American Crafts, Crate Paper and Echo Park Paper), transparency (American Crafts), canvas (Canvas Corp Brands), mist (Tattered Angels), die cuts (American Crafts), stickers (Echo Park Paper, Sassafrass Lass and American Crafts), booby pin (studio Calico), sequins (Studio Calico), washi tape (The Paper Studio) and punch (We R Memory Keepers)

Here are a few close-ups. Since this page was all about me I used my favorite techniques (clusters and mists) and favorite products (Shimelle and Maggie Holmes papers). My me time is cooking, creating and coffee time.

#My Spot - SBC 477

Today is the first challenge reveal for the month of April at Scrapbook Challenges. I am happy to say sketch #475 was one of my sketches which happens to look a lot better than the hand drawn version I sent in to get it digitize.

Here is my take on it.
Supplies: cardstock (Die Cuts With a View and Bazzill Basics), pattern paper (Echo Park), journaling card (Project Life), ink (Prima), washi tape (Studio Calico)., wood veneer (American Crafts and Crate Paper), sequins (Studio Calico) and stickers (Studio Calico, K & Co. and American Crafts)

At the moment I am loving using hashtags in my titles. I wonder if 20 years from know the hashtag thing will be so out dated.

The Original Selfie - SBC #FBF

This week's Flashback Friday #237 sketch from Scrapbook Challenges is great when you have a lot of photos.
Here is my take on it. I ended up using some old photo booth photos my mom had back in the 70s.

Supplies (cardstock (Die Cuts With a View), pattern paper (American Crafts, Echo Park and Carta Bella), stickers (American Crafts and My Mind's Eye), washi tape (My Mind's Eye) chipboard (Maya Road), twine (Bella Creationz), stitching template (American Crafts), watercolor crayon (Faber-Castell), punch (We R Memory Keepers), brad (Crate Paper), mist (Tattered Angels), enamel dots (Studio Calico and My Mind's Eye), eletronic die cutter, cartridge and software (Cricut), embossing folder (Moment), ink (Umbrella Crafts), embossing machine (Sizzix), doily (Doodlebug Designs), and pen (Project Life)

I had fun with the title. After all the photo booth was the original selfie.  The "original" die cut was faux letterpressed with an embossing folder and dye ink.

The journaling was just stating who was in each row of photos.

Hello Grandma - SBC Spelling Bee

This month's spelling bee challenge over at Scrapbook Challenges was a little bit of a challenges to me since I am one who don't think things are lucky. After giving it much thought on what I could use I decided the only thing I do that can bring good things in "Prayer"

In the word "Prayer" I had to use paint (painted the back of the transparency) , rhinestones, acrylic (camera embellishment, thanks Kelly), yarn and eyelets.  Here is what I created.
Supplies: pattern paper (Crate Paper and Fancy Pants Designs), velum (?), stickers (American Crafts), eyelets (Provo Craft), grommet (We R Memory Keepers), transparency (American Crafts), journaling cards (Project Life, Pink Paislee and Webster's Pages) doily (Doodlebug Designs), gems (Studio G), yarn (?), acrylic shape (Freckled Fawn), washi tape (Little B) and paint (Americana).

I love how the yarn title came out. Tip: make sure your glue tip is clog free. You might get the glue in big blobs instead of a nice thin line. I am not saying this because that happened to me or anything like that. ;)

I titled this "Hello Grandma" because I never knew her. She died when my mom was 16. Of everything I heard about her she was the type of grandma that would spoil you. There are a lot of stories about trips for candy, ice cream etc.

Hello - SBC

Before I get into the backlog card share I want to share with you the Scrapbook Challenges is having a full design team reveal for the new term. Be sure to check out who made it onto the team. Of course, I extended my term. They can't get rid of me. I have been with them for a little over three years.
The Scrapbook Challenges sketch crew feature from Feb. 19th was on Lori. On her blog she shares tons of cute cards and if you know me I love card making as much as scrapbooking.
Here is my card. It is actually the 5th card I have crated this year. I am trying to cut back on the card making since I have almost 300 cards in my stash. I might have a problem. lol.

Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics), pattern paper (Echo Park and Studio Calico), vellum (American Crafts), stamp (Studio Calico), ink (Tsukineko), die (Studio Calico) and manual die cutter (Spellbinders).

Time to Create Cards

This year, I am starting to document the little things that I do but with more journaling. I think I will make the Tracie Claiborne proud, I am scrappy with a story in mind. This page is about my mom and I getting together every January to create Valentine cards .

Supplies: pattern paper (American Crafts, Pink Paislee and Crate Paper), stickers (American Crafts, Elle's Studio, Studio Calico and Simple Stories), journaling cards (Project Life), washi tape (The Paper Studio and Doodlebug Designs), doily (Doodlebug Designs), tag (?), stamp (American Crafts), ink (Momento), dew drops ( The Robin's Nest), wood veneer (American Crafts), rub-on (Maya Road), marker (Faber-Castell) and pen (Project Life)

   Here are the close-ups.
Here are the close-ups. I love how this page came together. I got to use up that old Pink Paislee "Secret Crush" scraps that have been in my stash for about 3-4 years.
To make the tab on the journaling card I just used the envelope punch board. It makes the perfect tab every time.
On a few of the hearts I cut the outer edge from the background paper. I then patched the opening from the back with a blue paper. To keep the hearts up once it was in the album I just popped them up with foam squares.

Bride & Groom

Scrapbook Challenges sketch reveal in #470. I love the simplicity of this design. I know me and simple is like water and oil, they don't just mix. however, some photos command a more simple design to highlight the moment.

This page might shock some of my friends. I didn't use any doilies and sequins on it. I my might even faint. lol.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basic and Die Cuts With a View), pattern paper (Studio Calico and American Crafts), transparency (American Crafts), stickers (American Crafts, Studio Calico and Heidi Swapp), journaling card (Project Life), flair (Studio Calico), chipboard (Studio Calico), washi tape (The Paper Studio), manual die (American Crafts), manual die cutter (Spellbinders), markers (Bic and Faber-Castell)and mist (Tattered Angels)

While going through my stash I came across the heart die cut and thought it was perfect for this page. I just cut out a couple more hearts and the banner to finish the cluster.
