Card For Him - Stick It Down

   Hello blog readers. Today is a Monday which means I am sleep deprived because I stayed up until 1:30 A.M. to watch Worst Cooks in America. 

Anyway, let's get to the fun card sketch from Stick It down. 

   I created a sea-worthy Father's Day card.

   I love the mirror gold paper mats. If you want to take your cards to the next level this paper is a must-have. 

   
  I used foam adhesive to give the center panel some depth.

Stick It Down Jan. Reveal

   It is my first blog post of the year, so I just want to say Happy New Year and welcome to the reveal of Stick It Down card sketch.

Wishing Birthday Fun

    July has been a busy month of prep work for Christmas in my shop. Even though I work most of the day sewing I still sneak some me paper crafting time at night. 

Today, I am going to share a page using a Sketch~N~Scrap sketch. 

   I loved all the layers from the sketch.

 Supplies: pattern paper (Studio Calico, KaiserCraft, My Mind's Eye and Colorbox), wood veneer (Jillibean Soup and Jenni Bowlin), washi tape (Scotch Brand), die cuts (Echo Park Paper Co.) and journaling card (Project Life)   

 I ended up fussy cutting the hexagon paper. I still love to do splatters.

   I am happy to share with your this month's card sketch that I created for Stick It Down. It is super simple, which I love sketches like this because they are fast but can easily be changed up. 

   This card was made because my brother needed a "Thank You" card to send to our grandparents for his birthday. I kept the design very clean, which I always seem to do when it is a card from or to a guy.

April SID Reveal

   Sorry, for the delay in my Stick It Down reveal post. A quick family "trip" came up last week so everything got pushed to the back burner.  The term "trip" is in quotes since it involved surgery for my Dad.  

   It is time for April's card sketch reveals at Stick It Down, this month is one that I created. 

   Here is the card that I created. It is a birthday card for my uncle, who lives by the beach so I thought this would be perfect for him.

Best Wishes Card

   I am stopping by today to share a quick card that I created today for a challenge on a scrappy board. This card took only a couple of minutes to whip up. I love the 6.5" x 6.5" paper pads from KaiserCraft because they have cute element punchout embellishments. This will make a great guy birthday card.

Today's World News - SBC 481

   Last Monday's sketch reveal for Scrapbook Challenges was sketch #481.

   Here is my take on it. I swapped the three smaller photos for on large one.

   The journaling for this page came from the captain that was printed on the back of the original photo that appeared in a New York paper back in 1945.  

   Since it was about a photo in a newspaper I thought this was the perfect title for this layout.

Make A Wish - SBC #482

   Hope everyone had a great weekend. I sure did on National Scrapbook Day and pampering my mother on Mother's Day.

Rough Crowd - SBC #463

   Where did the weekend go? My to-do list barley got touched. Hope you all had a more productive week. 

Today is sketch #463 reveal for Scrapbook Challenges. 

   As you can see, I kept this page super simple.

   I ended up doing one of my favorite techniques on the title letter die cuts. It is called faux letterpressing. That is when you ink up an embossing folder before you place the paper in it and run it through the embossing machine. I came up for the title of this page because that was the first thing that popped in my head about this photo of my mom, grandpa, uncles and cousin 

Carpe Diem - SBC SS 15' Sketch # 05

   Sizzling summer sketches are in full force over at Scrapbook Challenges. I love this time of year, it allows me to take some me time and what normally is a busy time at home. Here is a little background info abo Sizzling Summer, everyday weekday in the month of August there is a new sketch reveal. Instead of the normal Monday and Friday reveals we fill the days in between this month with new sketches. 

This is today's #05 reveal. 

   

   Here is my take.

 Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio and American Crafts), pattern paper (American Crafts, Crate Paper and Kaisercraft), chipboard (Crate Paper), die cuts (American Crafts and Kaisercraft), paperclip (Maya Road), mask (The Crafters Workshop), modeling paste (Liquitex), washi tape (Scotch Brand), electronic die cutter and cartridge (Provo Craft), white thread and sewing machine.

   This photo has been on the to scrap to-do list. The only reason it was because it is the only photo I have of my dad, brother and uncle together. Since the photo is 25+ years old I thought to use the old cassette chipboard pieces that came in the Boy's Rule line from Crate Paper. 

   Here is a close-up on the modeling paste work. I just love the chicken wire stencil from TCW.
Also, don't take a very close look at the middle row of circles. I ran out of thread while I was stitching so I ended up with holes poked in it instead. Here is a little tip: make sure you have an extra spool of white thread hanging around.

The Gamer - SBC #445

   This week over at Scrapbook Challenges was a great sketch #445  reveal. I loved this sketch and I made it super ahead of time but forgot one thing. I forgot to submit it to be on the reveal post. That was a first. Even, though, I did that I still want to share it here.

   Here is my take on it.

 Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio and Die Cuts With a View), pattern paper (Kaiser Craft and Crate Paper), washi tape (Scotch Brand), die cuts (Teresa Collins, Kaiser Craft and Crate Paper), stickers (Jillibean Soup), doily (The Paper Studio), stitching template (American Crafts), mist (Tattered Angels) and embroidery floss.

   I am sure you are like me and you have pattern paper in your stash you will never use. I decided I have too much of that so I am starting to use the plain white side to replace white cardstock. This way I get to use some stash and not have to go out and spend money for white cardstock. 

   The "THE" in the title is stitched with black embroidery floss. I am still in love with hand stitching and it doesn't look like I will be out of love for that any time soon.
