You Make Me Happy

Welcome to March's card sketch for Stick It Down. This sketch is great for a large focal element.

I created this simple card and used a foiled journaling card for the focal element, sorry for the glare.
Supplies: cardstock (cardstock Warehouse), pattern paper (Simple Stories and Pinkfresh Studios) sequins (SpiegleMom Scraps), journaling card (?)

This card was mainly made of scraps that I had sitting on the table when I was crafting.

You have until the end of the month to play along with any - or all! - of the sketches.  Just add your creation in the link in the Stick It Down sidebar.  If you share on social media, please use the hashtag #StickItDown.  We’ll choose one winner from the entries and they will be invited to guest design for us in April.

Anniversary Card - SID

This month's card sketch from Stick It Down is a fun one that can allow you to do some fun elements.
Here is my take on the sketch. I created this elegant "love" card for my parents' 40th anniversary. I used a lot of red since I went with the traditional "ruby" theme anniversary.
Supplies: cardstock (Cardstock Warehouse), pattern paper (Bo Bunny), washi tape (Scotch Brand), manual die (Paper Smooches), sequins (Treehouse Studio), dew drops (The Robin's Nest), embossing folder (The Paper Studio), tools (We R Memory Keepers, and Spellbinders), other (foam tape and plastic)
The fun element that I did on this card was doing a shaker filled with dew drops and sequins.

Be sure to play along. You have until the end of the month to play along with any - or all! - of our sketch challenges. Just post a link to your creation in our sidebar. If you share on social media, be sure to tag #StickItDown.

One randomly selected winner will receive a prize! We'll also choose one winner from each sketch to be a guest designer!

WCMD Recap Post 1

Yesterday was World Card Making Day and by chance, I was able to participate. Instead, of being out of town like I thought my family stayed home.
I got to spend all evening in my studio creating cards. I only got a total of 8 cards done but that is good.

Here is a card that I created for the Pinkfresh WCMD Challenge #1, favorite technique. It was a little tricky to do my favorite "layers" card since my Pinkfresh stash it super small. For the floral paper, I used the packaging from one of their ephemera.

I just love the puffy stickers. They add a nice depth to an otherwise flat card.
Be sure to pop back as I will be sharing the rest of my WCMD creations.

The Color of Love

This week, I think I finally found the happy balance of "work" and just for me crafting. I figured out the best way for me at the moment is to do "etsy product" work during the day which allows my evenings free to do some computer work, board games or creating for me, dt work or publication. In other words, I think my blogging might be more active this month than it has been.

Today's share is a card I created using a Scrapbook & Cards Today sketch. When I saw this Wednesday's challenge at Simon Says Stamp I thought this card would be perfect for it.
Supplies: cardstock (American Crafts), pattern paper (Pink Paislee and Crate Paper), watercolor crayons ( Design Memory Craft), sequins (SpiegelMom Scraps), wood veneer (Crate Paper), stamps (Concord & 9 and Stampabilities), burlap string (Maya Arts), stamping tool (MISTI), frame punch board (We R Memory KeeperS), stamping ink (Tsukineko)

I have to say I am head-over-heels in love with the way this card came out. I am a huge fan of the Moonstruck collection by Pink Paislee. I think I need to buy a couple more pieces of that line. The watercoloring inside the frame was done freehand.

Here is the complete look of the card with it's matching envelope seal.
