Birthday Cards WCMD Recap 2

Today, I am going to share with you a few of the birthday theme cards that I created on World Card Making Day.  The 3 that I will be sharing with you feature the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

The first one is my type of card, a pop-up explosion box card. This one would be great for a kid's birthday.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics), pattern paper (Simple Stories and American Crafts), stickers (Pretty Little Studio), stamp (CAS-ual Fridays Stamps), ink (Tsukineko)

The nest card would be a great birthday card for her. It is filled with layers.  I based the card on a sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap sketch

Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (American Crafts), journaling spot (My Mind's Eye). stickers (American Crafts), embossing folder (Momenta), stamp (CAS-ual Fridays Stamp), ink (Tsukineko), sequins (SpiegelMom Scraps), twine (My Mind's Eye), embossing machine (Sizzix)

The last card is a super simple card that I was in a hurry to do since my favorite show, Heartland, was about to come on. This was also based on a Sketch~N~Scrap sketch.

Supplies: cardstock (American Crafts and The Paper Studio), washi tape (American Crafts), embossing folder (Momenta), stamp (CAS-ual Fridays Stamps), ink (Tsukineko)

Thanks for stopping by and reading this long, picture heavy post.

HB2U Card

At the moment, I am currently loving minimal cards so stamps can shine. I saw this type of card on Jennifer McGuire blog last night. It is the first time I have did this type of card with the stamp images gets broken up by a matted area.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio and My Color Cardstock), ink (Hero Arts and Momento), stamps (Studio Calico and CAS-ual Fridays), tool (MISTI)

Here is a closer look at the design, I love that circles lined up. MISTI for the win.

Inside I did use another stamp from CAS-ual Fridays birthday set that I used for the HB2U on the front.

Published

I got published in the summer issue of Creative Scrapbooker., I am on page 132. I made this card early this year for the call and I am still in love with it.

Inside the card, I stamped a birthday sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays. I love stamping the sentiment on to my project once I got the MISTI.

The floral pattern paper was black and white and I watercolored the flowers in with watercolor crayons. I love how it gave this paper "Life".  I used the packaging paper to create the envelope seal.

YIkes!

I can't believe I have let this blog sit untouched for over a month. I don't think that has happened in years. I don't know why but the joy of blogging has died, or I just have the guilty feeling that I should be working on my Etsy shop instead. I find Instagram so much easier for me to update on new projects, so if you want to stay up-to-date on my creativity happenings be sure to follow me on IG, link to my IG account can be found in the right sidebar.

I ended up creating this birthday card for the CAS_ual Fridays challenge, use pink, navy, and white.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Crate Paper and Basic Grey), brad (My Mind's Eye), alcohol markers (Spectrum noir), stamps (Cas_ual Fridays and Sizzix) and ink (Momento)

The cupcake stamp is one that I have been wanting to use since I got it for my birthday.

Inside I used a CAS_ual Friday stamp for the sentiment.

Here is the completed card with the matching envelope seal. This will be given to my mom for her birthday.

BB2U - Featuring a Galaxy Background

Last night, I was in the mood to try a new technique that I have been seeing some online friends doing. Since I knew for my style I need to do it in a small amount which was great so I didn't feel like I wasted my time if I ruined it since I wasn't using the right items. This card I am about to share uses the "Galaxy" background technique and the "CAS(E) this sketch #212

Here is my take on this sketch.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio and My Mind's Eye), watercolor crayons (Design Memory Craft), punches (EK Success and We R Memory Keepers), stamp (CASual Fridays), stamp ink (Tsukineko), mist (Tattered Angels), brad (My Mind's Eye) and salt.

I love the frame punch board from We R Memory Keepers. I seem to be using it on a lot of my projects.

To create this pattern paper with the watercolor crayon and black mist. While it was still wet I added salt to the top and let it dried. Once it dried I brushed off the salt. It doesn't look like the galaxy which is because of error on my part but I do love the look of this.

Clean and Simple Joy Card

This is my last post for today. I promise. This post is for another card that I created with this week's CAS-Ual Fridays challenge

Here is my take on the challenge.
Supplies: cardstock (Canvas Home Basics and American Crafts), pattern paper (Scrap Works), wooden ornament (Target), stamp (Close to My Heart), ink (Close to My Heart), bakers twine (Bella Creationz), sequins (SpiegleMom Scraps), dies (Spellbinders), die cutter (Spellbinders) and lace (Heidi Swapp)

I love the big snowflake on here. I got it in a pack of gift toppers from Target at the end of the season last year.

I think this look is such an elegant look for the holiday card.

I love the triple layer bow with the sequins star center.

I couldn't resist to add a touch of lace to the bottom of the card.

Black, White & Gold Christmas Card Set

Can you believe this is my second post for today and expect one more later on. This post is for a card set that I created with this week's CAS-Ual Fridays challenge. I have been a long follower of their blog but never got to play along, that is until now. This week's challenge was black, white with a pop of color.

Here is my take on it. I opted for gold as the pop of color. This color combo looks so elegant for Christmas cards.
Supplies: cardstock (Canvas Home Basics and American Crafts), pattern paper (Scrap Works), stamps (Studio Calico and Close to My Heart), inks (Tsukineko and Versamark), manual dies (Spellbinders), die cut machines (Spellbinders), embossing powder (Stampabilities) and brad (Quick Quotes).

Here is a group shot of just the cards.

I used pop dots under the sentiment frame to give it more interest since I layered it on top of the same color cardstock.
