Party Easel Card - DRU

Welcome back. Today, I have a Dies R Us post. It is a fun easel card. This type of card looks advance but it is super easy to put together.

First off you need to die cut the base with a large die, I used one from Spellbinders. Place the folded cardstock within the die so you get a connected shape. You will also need to die cut the same shape again but no need for the fold. I am also using the dies to die cut the pattern papers that will be used to decorate.
To create the easel fold the front of the card base in half. Then, glue the extra die to the folded half.
I used the dies from Frantic Stamper to create the embellishments. Monique was die cut twice so her dress was different. To add more personality to her I used markers to color her hair and shoes.
Here it is all decorated. I even added layers of dies to the inside of the card. This also helps to keep the card open popularly.

Birthday Cards WCMD Recap 2

Today, I am going to share with you a few of the birthday theme cards that I created on World Card Making Day.  The 3 that I will be sharing with you feature the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

The first one is my type of card, a pop-up explosion box card. This one would be great for a kid's birthday.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics), pattern paper (Simple Stories and American Crafts), stickers (Pretty Little Studio), stamp (CAS-ual Fridays Stamps), ink (Tsukineko)

The nest card would be a great birthday card for her. It is filled with layers.  I based the card on a sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap sketch

Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (American Crafts), journaling spot (My Mind's Eye). stickers (American Crafts), embossing folder (Momenta), stamp (CAS-ual Fridays Stamp), ink (Tsukineko), sequins (SpiegelMom Scraps), twine (My Mind's Eye), embossing machine (Sizzix)

The last card is a super simple card that I was in a hurry to do since my favorite show, Heartland, was about to come on. This was also based on a Sketch~N~Scrap sketch.

Supplies: cardstock (American Crafts and The Paper Studio), washi tape (American Crafts), embossing folder (Momenta), stamp (CAS-ual Fridays Stamps), ink (Tsukineko)

Thanks for stopping by and reading this long, picture heavy post.

Monochromatic It's Your Day Card

I usually stay away from monochromatic challenges but I fell in love with the look when I knew I had enough stuff in my stash that used my favorite color. I ended up creating this card for the My Favorite Things "Camp Create".

Here is my take on it.
Supplies: cardstock (Canvas Home Basics and American Crafts), watercolor crayon (Faber-Castell), embossing folders (American Crafts and Project Life), embossing machine (Sizzix), doily (Doodlebug Designs), sequins (SpiegleMom Scraps), stamps (My Favorite Things and Sizzix), die (Sizzix) manual die cutter (Spellbinders) and punches (EK Success), ink (Tsukineko and Umbrella Crafts), washi tape (Studio G)

   Here are some closer looks.

I love all the texture on this card.

Always Focus... - SBC SS 05

Sizzling Summer sketch #05 at Scrapbook Challenges is one that I ended up creating back in May when I was keeping myself busy at the family business.

Here is my take on it.

Supplies: cardstock (Die Cuts With a View and The Paper Studio), pattern paper (American Crafts and Fancy Pants Designs), stamp (Heidi Swapp), ink (Tsukineko), wood veneer (Crate Paper), sequins (SpiegleMom Scraps), overlay (American Crafts), tags (Studio Calico), cork die cut (SpiegleMom Scraps) embossing folder (Sizzix) embossing machine (Sizzix)

Here is a closer look. I love how this title area came out. The SpiegleMom Scraps items were the perfect touch to this area. Don't forget if you are getting some items there use coupon code mandi15 for 15% off.
I even broke out an old brag paper pad from Fancy Pants to mat the photos.
Don't forget to link up your creations on the Mr. Linky at Scrapbook Challenges to have a chance at winning this month's prize.

Spring Card

Welcome, today's card is a fun and bright card that is using this month's special,  sorbet glitter cardstock. It also features this month's special partner, Gel-a-tins.
Supplies:
doily
embossing plates and machine (Sizzix)
inks (Close to my Heart and The Paper Studio)
sandpaper

Since the cardstock has a white core it is great for embossing and distressing with sandpaper.
I love the stamped corner. If it was not stamped it looked too plain and out of place.
Lastly, is the envelope seal. It is stamped and fussy cut. I heat embossed the heart.
As you can tell Gel-a-tins stamps are a perfect match with with this month's special.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come back Friday for our Daisy Hop.
