Wedding Prep - SBC Jan. Mood Board

   This month's mood board at Scrapbook Challenges is perfect to document New Year's celebrations or any type of celebration. I love this color palette. 

   For this page, I ended up scrapping some photos of my Mom when she was part of my late aunt's (her soon to be sister in law) wedding. 

Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill)e embossed cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (7 Paper, Studio Calico, and Crate Paper), velum (7 Paper), doily (Doodlebug Designs), stickers (American Crafts, Studio Calico and We R Memory Keepers, sequins (Tree House Studio and Studio Calico), mist (Heidi Swapp), gelato (Faber-Castell), and paint (Americana) 

   Most of the items I used on this page were from the Black Friday sale that Studio Calico had back in November. I love the gold grab bag. 

   The flowers that were printed on the background paper were colored in with mist and gelato stick. I love the watercolor look they have. 

   The embossed wood grain paper was given a white wash look with some white paint. Just did the paintbrush in the paint rub some of the paint off until it dry and brush it across the paper.

Love Because That is what Awesome is Made of - SBC #465

   Last Monday's reveal for Scrapbook Challenges was based on this sketch. 

   Here is my take on it.I have to be honest but I  was hating how this page was working but I am glad with the end results. I blame it on the fact I had a month break from scrapping when I started it so I was not in the right mood.

   Here are a few close ups. That "Love" circle is actually a die cut I got in a Paper Crafts magazine years ago.

   I am loving that little typewriter.

Thanks For... - SBC #466

   I have been working on finishing up my 2015 albums. I was shocked on how little details I have scrapped for that year. I only have one album filled and I usually have two. I can say I am solving that problem this month. 

   I am working with today's sketch reveal for Scrapbook Challenges. 

   Here is my Thanksgiving page. I usually have very few photos of this holiday since it is a lay back day for us (while not me, I do the bulk of the cooking) and everyone else is usually in their pajamas.

   For Christmas, I got a real manual die cut machine and I am so happy with it since I had dies and the only manual machine I had to use with it was the squeeze by Quickutz. 

   The doilies were on the our Thanksgiving table and I had everyone write on one to say what they were Thankful for the year. This is something I do every year.

Seating for 4 - SBC #FBF

   After many distractions, one being of Buster staring at me with one eye while laying in his bed, and errands I finally am getting this post posted. Today's post is the first remake sketch of the year for Scrapbook Challenges.

   Here is the update. 

   I loved this sketch because I was able to change the amount of photos easily but the sketch is easily can be seen in the finish product.  First off I have to say I am in love with the printer I got for Christmas. I just love the quality of this print I did.

Supplies: cardstock (The paper Studio), patter paper (Heidi Swapp and Canvas Corp. Brand), border punch (EK Success), doily (Studio Calico), stickers (American Crafts and Studio Calico), wood veneer (Target), electronic die cutter, software and cartridge (Cricut), sewing machine and black thread.

   Here is a little tip on wood veneers, buy those cute little gift toppers or ornaments you can find at Target. I bought a package of 6 of these snowflake for only $0.50.  These would have easily been  a lot more if you found them at a craft store. 

   Here is a close up on the title work. After I did this page I realized I used the same title for 2014 Thanksgiving page or Christmas.

Goals

   Unlike last year, I am setting myself some goals I would like to work on. These goals are not hard but they are empowering. They will help me find more freedom in being me. I say that because this past year I have been having a hard time be content at where I am at and was always looking at the "what if's". So I am starting this year on the right foot and hopefully reach these five goals I hope I will be able to reach. 

1. I am going to try to worry less.
2. Was going to get my drivers license at the start of the year but I am putting that off until my vision is completely stable and have a contact lens.
3. Do more of the things I enjoy that don't happen that often, tennis, sewing,etc.
4. Learn manual mode on my camera.
5. Be content at where I am at.

As you can tell three of the goals are more of self improving. The driving goal is something I am hoping I will reach this year but it all depends if I am feeling comfortable at where my eyesight is.

   I am also going to pick one word that I want to focus on this year. It is going to be the word "Grow".
I think this word is a perfect word for everyone, It reminds us that we should broaden our view and knowledge. We should only stop learning when we are gone. We should better our lives before we can improve things around us.
So why don't you "Grow" with me this year.

Flew By

   That is what this year did for me. It seems like last month that we just celebrated the new year. This year has been full of mix emotions it started out rough and it is going out a lot better than it started. In between that time a lot has happened and they were a few tears shed. I dealt with me eye health all year, traveled 1,400 miles total for eye surgery and exam and who knows how many just to my in town eye doctor. Buster had a surgery for a abscess, he also had a seizure and another infection. We also started the kitchen remodel

   Since it is the end of the year I like to do a 12 month highlight of my favorite blog post projects I did.

Bad Timing - SBC #464

Rough Crowd - SBC #463

   Where did the weekend go? My to-do list barley got touched. Hope you all had a more productive week. 

Today is sketch #463 reveal for Scrapbook Challenges. 

   As you can see, I kept this page super simple.

   I ended up doing one of my favorite techniques on the title letter die cuts. It is called faux letterpressing. That is when you ink up an embossing folder before you place the paper in it and run it through the embossing machine. I came up for the title of this page because that was the first thing that popped in my head about this photo of my mom, grandpa, uncles and cousin 

The First Snow of 2015 -SBC #FBF 329

   It is Friday and that means over at Scrapbook Challenges there is an updated sketch reveal. This week's update is sketch # 

   What are perfect sketch to document the first shovel-able snow of this year. The snow count was 6 inches and it was the week before Thanksgiving. It looked more like Christmas than this year's Christmas.
