The Pretty Lights- Child's Play Challenges

This is the last Child's Play layout I will be posting. Child's Play Challenges has decided to shut it's doors. For this last challenge the theme has to do with a great classic kid's toy I wished for.

Lite Brite made me think of Christmas lights so I scraped some poor quality photos from a couple of years ago.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (American Crafts, Studio Calico and Basic Grey), tags (Bo Bunny, Pink Paislee, and Jolee's), doily (Sunny-side Bakery, The Paper Studio and Doodlebug Design)), stickers (My Mind's Eye, American Crafts and October Afternoon), journaling spot (?), washi tape (American Crafts), chipboard (Bo Bunny) and pen (Project Life)

On this page I ended up doing two journaling spots on here. The first one is hidden due to the fact it was a lot to the story. Plus, writing this post I just realized it. LOL. I never said I was fully on the ball.

The last journaling spot just was written on washi tape. It just name were each photo was taken.

I am sad to say farewell to this inspiring team but I am glad I was able to be called a game player for a year.

Hot Hot Hot - Child's Play Challenges

The first challenge this month from Child's Play Challenges has to do with one of my favorite Christmas movies, The Polar Express. I remember the first time I saw it was at NCG theaters. I loved it and the graphics are so life like that one would forget that it was animated. One My family's favorite scene was the Hot Cocoa scene. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Uuw3JKLO1g
Naturally, I thought of scraping by brother's love to cocoa and my take it or leave it love of it.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (American Crafts, Basic  Grey and Studio Calico), journaling card (My Mind's Eye), trim (American Crafts), sequins (Tree House Studio), stickers (Heidi Swapp and American Crafts), punch (We R Memory Keepers), wood veneer (Target), diy enamel dots, twine (Timeless Twine), ink (Quick Quotes) and stitching template (American Crafts)

I am still loving the stitching templates by Amy Tan. I don't think i will get tired of those things.
The journaling card was from the antique collection by My Mind's Eye. I just inked the edges with chalk ink.

Be sure to hop on over to Child's Play challenges to see the full design team reveal.
Also, if you like these coasters they are for sale on my Etsy store.
Thanks for stopping by.

Having Fun... - Child's Play Challenges

Hot Wheels is the inspiration toy for the second challenge at Child's Play Challenges. When my brother and I were little you hardly ever saw a hot wheel car in our home, the only time you did was if it came in a happy meal. However, this challenge was an easy one for me because we did have pinewood derby car. I love those races at church. My brother got trophies and I got participating ribbons.

Supplies: cardstock (American Crafts and The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Crate Paper), chipboard (Crate Paper and Um Wow Stdio)), twine (Timeless Twine), journaling card (Project Life) brads (My Mind's Eye and Basic Grey), Stickers (Heidi Swapp, American Crafts and Studio Calico), mist (Tattered Angels), inl (Stampabilities), stamps (Paper Bakery), washi tape (Scotch), pen (Project Life) and diy enamel dots.

I like mixing different fonts for titles. It adds so much more interest .
That little orange brad is from a My Min's Eye Halloween collection.
I love doing hidden journaling. Adding stamps and an arrow just to show that there is hidden journaling. I am one who would forget.
Here is the journaling. It is not much but I felt with all the different patterns on this layout I couldn't do the journaling on the page without it getting lost.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check the full reveal over at CPC

Hey Happy Feet - Child's Play Challenges

This reveal all has to do with one of my favorite classic cartoons.
For this challenge I knew exactly what I was going to scrap about and that is about my feet. I know strange but let me tell you the back story. Ever since I was little my mom has called my feet Fred Flintstone's feet since they are a little wide.
Supplies: pattern paper (My Mind's Eye, Webster's Pages, Crate Paper, and Studio Calico), transparency (American Crafts), stickers (Basic Grey), sequins (Treehouse Studio and Studio Calico), journaling card (Project Life), die cut (Studio Calico Kit)

Here is the journaling.
I am just loving the sequin craze.

Weebles

Last Wednesday was the reveal day of this month's first challenge over at Child's Play Challenges. The theme was Weebles. When I thought of them the only thing came to mind was the famous saying, "Weebles wobble but they don't fall down". That didn't help me because it didn't inspire me. Thanks to my great friend Kelly, she went to wikipedia and saw the definition and the term roly-poly was in it. When I think of that term I think of my little roly-poly, Buster.
Here is the inspiration photo.
Now here my page of my little Weeble.
Supplies: cardstock (American Crafts nd The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Echo Park and My Mind's Eye), gelatos (Faber-Castell), modeling paste, mist (Heidi Swapp and Studio Calico), stickers (American Crafts and Jolee's), washi tape (Scotch, Bella Blvd. and We R Memory Keepers), journaling card (Project Life), twine (Timeless Twine), stitching template (American Crafts), electronic die cutter and cartridge (Provo Craft) and frame (?)
I am in loving this photo of Buster with his yarn wig I made last year for his Hippie costume. He is so use to wearing things that he likes it and if you try to take it off he has a fit. This page was created with 90% non-Halloween theme products. I like doing that so I don't have a ton of supplies laying around my stash that only gets use a couple of times a year. With those gelatos by Faber-Castell you change the color of items in your stash easily. I use them on that spider web paper, it use to be white now it is an ombre of oranges.
While you are reading this I am probably painting, cooking, creating more layouts or sleeping. That is what my life has been like the last two months. LOL. Thanks for dropping by.

Love = Cooties

Cooties. I know it is a strange blogging topic but that is what I am blogging about today. Today is another reveal over at Child's Play Challenges. The topic is the children's game '"Cooties". I never played the game but I remember the commercial for it from when I was little. This was a challenge for me since the only thing I could think of doing was a bug layout but really did it come down to scrapping a bug when I had hundreds of meaningful photos to scrap. I finally thought of love since that has been referred to cooties forever.
   Here is the inspiration piece
I decided to scrap this year's Valentine's cards. That just screams love thanks to Hallmark. :) .
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Basic Grey, Carta Bella, Crate Paper and Studio Calico), trim (American Crafts),stickers (American Crafts and Simple Stories), pinwheel (Queen & Co.) tags (Chic Tags), enamel dots ( My Mind's Eye), ink (Close To My Heart)  stamps (Stampin' Up!), washi tape (Doodlebug Designs),  pen (American Crafts) and doily (Doodlebug Designs)
I have to tell you a little secret about this page. I forgot to cut the bottom strip off the background paper. I didn't know it was on it until I showed the completed page to my mom. I never saw a paper with the same pattern and colors on the cut off strip before. To fix the problem I trimmed the excess off the top. Now, I know look on the Basic Grey papers for that information strip before I start glueing. LOL
Thanks for stopping by and be sue to link up you takes on the month's challenges over at Child's Play Challenges
