Simple Stories Birthday Card

Welcome to the Feb. card sketch reveal for Stick It Down. This month's sketch was something that I created. Be sure to join our FB. group to play along with this month's card sketch and our layout sketches.
I created this birthday card for my Dad. I ended up using the Simple Vintage Essentials collection by Simple Stories.

I used a Polaroid image diecut to heat emboss the card sentiment on it.  I made this card months ago with the sketch so that date you see is not a typo.

Spring Celebrate Card

I know it is December and here in MI I know spring is a long way away but that doesn't mean that you can't create a spring-type card when the weather is not.

This Stick It Down month's card sketch was another creation that I did.

I used Artoptions Alena Collection by 49 & Market, Cardstock Warehouse cardstock, and sequins by SpiegelMom Scraps.

I love the script font stamps by Avery Elle stamps. It is one of my go-to sentiment stamps.

Be sure to join the fun at the Stick It Down FB group. There you find a whole community of scrappers and cardmakers.

Celebrate Card - Stick It Down

Can you believe we are almost to Thanksgiving? Time is sure flying and there is only one more Stick It Down sketch revealed until the new team comes in the new year, which I am sure you can't wait to see the new designers create in the upcoming term.

This month's sketch was one that I created.

Here is my take on it. Of course, you are seeing the same 49 & Market collection ARToptions Alena Collection.

I even dragged out my heat-embossing items to create the sentiment.
Come join the fun at the Facebook group.

Sweetest Card

It is July and I can't believe this is already the start of the second term of 2023 for Stick It Down.

This term I am going to attempt something different I will be using the same collection to create all 6 cards. I am using 49 and Market and I have to say this is my first time using this brand and I am loving the quality.

I even used a rub-on. I love these text/splatters. however, it seemed a little tacky so I used a little Minic foil and rubbed over it. Problem solve and it adds a little interest.

I love everything about this. The layers and colors and so perfect.

Love Easel Card

Welcome to the first creation for 2023 term at Stick It Down.  This month's sketch features a fun slimline card style.

Here is my take on the card sketch. I created this "Love" theme slimfold easel card that I am sure will be used in Feb.

I did a layered heart with foam adhesive to create the card stopper.

I just got this tag maker for Christmas and I have to say I love it. The "Love" is a Paper Smooches die that I did an offset layer to create the shadow. On this card I did a mix of old and new items, that rivet ribbon is over 15 years old and the pattern paper used I just got it for Christmas.

Even when the card is not open as an easel it still looks good.

You have until the end of the month to play along with any - or all! - of the sketches.  Just add your creation in the link in the Stick It Down sidebar.  If you share on social media, please use the hashtag #StickItDown.  We’ll choose one winner from the entries and they will be invited to guest design for us in March.

Mirror Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone. This month's card sketch was a simple design which features a diagonal design element.

Here is my take on my card sketch.

I created an easel style card that features a stamped and embossed stopper inside.

As you can tell this embossed mirror cardstock was highly reflective.
I kept the line design suped simple with different metallic washi tape strips.

Nautical Birthday Card

This month's card sketch can be interpreted in many ways.

I did a square card but folded the front panel in half so you see the inside of the card too at the same time.
Supplies: cardstock (Cardstock Warehouse), pattern paper and die cuts (Kaiser Craft), die (Scrapbook.com), tools: (Spellbinders),

Here is what the card looks like open.

I am planning on printing a sentiment liner for this card so the rope paper will be the mat for it.

   Here it is closed.

Enjoy Your Special Day Easel Card

July marks a new term for design team members at Stick It Down. I am happy to say I stayed and am continuing on providing these term card sketches. Like all my sketches I like to keep them simple since I see them as building blocks that allow the card creator to have fun.

I ended up creating a fun easel card. I kept it super simple since the paper was that gorgeous.
Supplies: cardstock and paper papers and die cuts (Crafter's Companion), doily (Doodlebug Designs), manual die (Echo Park Paper Co.), Pops of Color (Scrapbook.com), tools (Spellbinders)

Here it is open as an easel.

I added some Pops of Color medium in clear to get a dew drop effect, it was nice using this instead of my usual go-to sequins. I just made sure I did this last and moved it off to my sewing table to dry because I knew I would have accidentally set something on top of this while it was drying.
For the stopper, I used another sentiment diecut and used foam adhesive to give it dimenision so it would hold the card open for display.
You have until the end of the month to play along with any - or all! - of the sketches.  Just add your creation in the link in the Stick It Down sidebar.  If you share on social media, please use the hashtag #StickItDown.  We’ll choose one winner from the entries and they will be invited to guest design for us in September.

Floral Birthday

Can you believe June is here? That means this is the last card sketch for this term at Stick It Down.

I created this lovely watercolor birthday card for my mom.
Supplies: cardstock (Cardstock Warehouse and Crafter's Companion), pattern paper: (Cocoa Vanilla Studio), inks (Crafter's Companion, Ranger), sticker: (Cocoa Vanilla Studio), washi tape (Pebbles Inc.), and embossing powder (Stampabilities)

I am currently loving these Sparkle Inks from Crafter's Companion. I used them to paint in the black and white floral pattern paper that is matted in black cardstock.

You have until the end of the month to play along with any - or all! - of the sketches.  Just add your creation in the link in the Stick It Down sidebar.  If you share on social media, please use the hashtag #StickItDown.  We’ll choose one winner from the entries and they will be invited to guest design for us in August.

Huge Birthday Wishes

This card sketch from Stick It Down features a banner element. When I came up with this sketch I immediately thought of a birthday card that I happened to need for my brother's birthday this month.

This cute card might be a little young for my big brother but it is so perfect for him since he loves animals, like I do.
Supplies: cardstock (Cardstock Warehouse), pattern paper (Studio Calico), stamps (Avery Elle and Hero Arts), ink (Hero Arts, Ranger, and Tsukineko), die cuts (Pretty Little Studio), washi tape (Queen & Co.), alcohol markers (Spectrum Noir), and tools (MISTI and Picket Fence)

I changed up the card opening on this one so it was almost like a tri-fold card.

I am still working on my coloring skills, as you can see I need more work and also need to refill one of my markers since I didn't have a lighter gray to use in the blending.

You have until the end of the month to play along with any - or all! - of the sketches.  Just add your creation in the link in the Stick It Down sidebar.  If you share on social media, please use the hashtag #StickItDown.  We’ll choose one winner from the entries and they will be invited to guest design for us in July.
