Love & Joy This Holiday Season - SBC 346

   Hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent it running to hardware stores to get stuff for my dad while he worked on our kitchen remodel. It will be interesting on how I will make dinners in there once he starts removing the floor and the rest of the cupboards. I will post pics soon. and expect little updates throughout the whole process. 

   Now, on to this week's sketch #436 reveal for Scrapbook Challenges. 

   For this page. I switched the number of photos I used. Instead of using the large 8x10 photos I ended up using four 4x4 photos. This allowed me to get more photos on this page. In other words, I didn't want to go to the store and pick up photo paper to print a photo that big.

A Stuffed Happy Ending - SBC

Today is day 8 of sketched reveals for Sizzlin Summer at Scrapbook Challenges. This page is the second half of a double page spread about our Thanksgiving from last year. 

 With this sketch I stayed true to it. I love the different size photos. Luckily, my printer does a passport size and 3x4. I just trimmed one down to make it a 4x2.

I finished this page late last night and I so super tired. I wish I didn't because now I realized that I added too many D's to the word "Ending" Good thing I didn't glue them down with glossy accents. 

Scrapbook Challenges Reveals (Super Long)

   It has been three weeks since I posted a reveal for SBC. During, the blogging vacation I have spending my time working with my dad on the storage renovation, cooking and avoiding my studio at all costs since it is like an oven in there during the summer.
Speaking of storage, the first page is about the progress. It uses sketch #396.

   Here are some close-ups of the journaling. I am loving those little chalkboard tags and the little envelopes. 

   This page came together very quickly for me. Usually, double layouts are my nemesis. I never can get the papers to line up so one side is like a 1/4 inch lower, which this drives me crazy. However, thanks to one of my favorite scrappy items I don't have have that problem. Can guess what it is? It is washi tape. I first line my background papers side by side and ran the tape across both pages. I then added all my embellishments and papers. I kept the pages connected when it came time to photograph the spread.  Thanks to my dear friend, Kelly, she turned me unto Teresa Collins papers. I am loving it.

   

   This next page uses sketch 397. This is another My Mind's Eye page. I think I might have a problem with this company. I have lots a paper from them but rarely use it, until now.

   On this page I played Mad Doctor with the thickers. I hate when I have the perfect color of them and realize that I don't have the correct letters. To correct this problem the craft knife comes out and it is time to get creative. For example, 3's becomes E's and 8's becomes S's.

Here is a close-up of my mad doctoring skills. 

On this page, I wanted to scrap an older photo since I was getting tired of doing current moments. A little digging and I came across this cute photo of my mom when she was a silly munchkin.

   Now, onto the current reveal. Sketch 398 was a super fun page that documents the end of an era for quality family television service.I will always miss Sky Angel.

The reason why I said this was a fun layout to make was because it was the first time I got to talk to Kelly. I was a virtual crop. We spent 94 minutes video chatting. It would have been longer if skype didn't keep crashing on me.

   I hereby promise not to get behind on my blogging this summer. I am sure you all are tired of this long post. i just want to say thanks for taking time out to read this. 

Say Cheese

Today is another great sketch reveal over at Simple Sketches. This is the sketch this week's team had to work with. 

I kept it fairly the same but I added an extra photo.

On this page I was able to use an very old pattern paper that I have had for over 5 years. Even though I kept this page fairly simple I went crazy with twine. I outline the side pahotos with it and did the stitched camera.

Double, Singles and a Card

A couple of weeks age I created this page of my mom's birthday from last year.
For this page I used Pamela Young's #237 sketch. I am entering this in About A Girl  bold challenge.

This page is of a photo of me when I was a baby. I am entering this page in About a Girl doily challenge

 This is the last page I created that I can share at this moment.  This page was a tough one for me because I ran out of creative juices and the patterns and colors were not helping it at all. To make this page cohesive I added little embellishments which complemented everything.

 Here is a card. I had the base of this done for a month but never finished it until this week. Thanks to a friend of mine who sent me the love tag I was able to complete this card in a matter of minutes.
