Camp I Wanna Scrap Blog Hop and SBC Reveal

Welcome to Scrappin' Peeps summer camp hop. This hop is all about water inspired. That means you could see water picks or liquid products in use. I ended up using mist on my page.

Love = Cooties

   Cooties. I know it is a strange blogging topic but that is what I am blogging about today. Today is another reveal over at Child's Play Challenges. The topic is the children's game '"Cooties". I never played the game but I remember the commercial for it from when I was little. This was a challenge for me since the only thing I could think of doing was a bug layout but really did it come down to scrapping a bug when I had hundreds of meaningful photos to scrap. I finally thought of love since that has been referred to cooties forever.

   Here is the inspiration piece 

  I decided to scrap this year's Valentine's cards. That just screams love thanks to Hallmark. :) .

I have to tell you a little secret about this page. I forgot to cut the bottom strip off the background paper. I didn't know it was on it until I showed the completed page to my mom. I never saw a paper with the same pattern and colors on the cut off strip before. To fix the problem I trimmed the excess off the top. Now, I know look on the Basic Grey papers for that information strip before I start glueing. LOL

Halloween in July?

   Yes, in the middle of summer I am scrapping halloween photos of last year's pet costume contests. I took Buster to Petco )he came is second. The minions beat him) and I also went to Soldan's contest that was held at a movie theater (he didn't place but came home with a big bag full of prizes).  Yes, I dressed up as a hippie with Buster a the last contest since it was pet and pet parent. It took me about a week to complete Buster's outfit. My favorite part was the wig.
 
   This week is sketch #402 reveal over at Scrapbook Challenges.

    First, I must say my Halloween theme scrapbooking items are small. I have two paper collections, a mini pad and a handful of embellishments. I don't find it that challenging to do this holiday since I like using my basic items in new ways.

 Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Authentique and Echo Park), eashi (My Mind's Eye), stickers (My Mind's Eye and Authentique ), electronic die cutter and cartridge (Provo Craft), paperclip (Maya Road), chipboard (Um Wow Studio), journaling card (Project Life), mist (Studio Calico), modeling paste (Liquidex), mask (Hazel & Ruby), DIY enamel dots, doily and wiggle eyes.

   This was the first time I used one of the masks from Hazel & Ruby with modeling paste. I love that they are sticky on the back of the mask so I didn't have to worry about them moving around while I was smearing the paste. See that sticker with the bike wasn't halloween theme but it look of it fits well with this page. 

 Here is a close up on the journaling. I am loving the shape clips by Maya Road.

 By taking a pair of wiggle eyes and sticking them in the O's I was able to add a spooky/silly element.

28 of Them - SBC

  That is 28 Father's Days my dad celebrated this year. The night before Father's day I decorated the table with old cards and his gifts. I usually don't that pics of this but I thought it looked cute so I snapped away at 1:30 in the morning. I didn't decorate earlier that week or that day since I was helping my dad (I think I was helping cleaning the barn and getting ready for new doors.) For the upcoming layout I used Scrapbook Challenges 401 sketch. 

Supplies: cardstock, pattern paper (Carta Bella), washi tape (We R Memory Keepers), stickers (American Crafts, and My Mind's Eye), diecut (Studio Calico) wood veneer (Studio Calico), gelato (Faber-Castell), mist (Studio Calico), journaling cards (Project Life) and pen (American Crafts)

The only pattern paper I used on this page was the background sheet. In the grid I cut up 4 different project life cards. I love those journaling cards within the last 6 months I bought 2 mini kits and 2 themed mini packs that have 60 cards.

Loved & Reused - Sketch 400 Reveal

This week's sketch reveal over at Scrapbook Challenges is great for one photo or two. I  opted for one since I didn't have a photo of the T-shirt before I cut it up and made it into a pillow. Yes you read that right, I made a pillow out of an old T-shirt I loved and I even documented it. 

 Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Fancy Pants), stickers (My Mind's Eye and Fancy Pants),  twine (Timeless Twine), stitching template (American Crafts), paperclip (Maya Road), sequins (Hazel & Ruby), frame (Hazel & Ruby), mist (Heidi Swapp), mask (Studio Calico), tag (Elle's Studio), washi tape (Scotch Brand), pen (American Crafts), electronic die cutter and cartridges (Provo Craft), decorative scissors (Fiskars), hole punch (We R Memory Keepers) and ink (Prima) 

   The doily behind the photo is one I made with decorative scissors. Trying to dust off my older items. I think it worked. 

 HEre is the journalling.

 I am still loving to stitch with twine. I find it relaxing if you don't have a deadline that is only a matter minutes area. Luckily, this page I wasn't is a rush for.

 I am loving mixing fonts, shapes and textures when it comes to do titles. FYI stickers don't stick to Expressio tape. I had to glue those tiny letters down with liquid glue.

Love 2014 - Child's Play Challenges

   Starting today I will be doing two monthly reveals for Child's Play Challenges. This week's reveal has do with a craft toy called Colorforms. I never heard of this before but I was up for the challenge of this inspiring me. 

   It inspired me with the basic shapes of the pieces. I ended up using circles, squares, rectangles and triangles and this page. 

Supplies: pattern paper (Crate Paper), journaling cards (Project Life), punch (EK Success), pen (Faber-Castell and American Crafts), twine (Timeless Twine), stitching template (American Crafts), sticker (My Mind;s Eye), diy enamel dots, doily, sewing machine and black thread.

 This page came out great and I love the face all the layers minus two 6x6 papers are all scraps and I didn't have to do any trimming to them.  Also, I did all the layers first, held everything in place with magnets and did the machine stitching. It came out a tad crooked but it just adds that handmade touch.
