Product Challenge

Today's birthday challenge for S~N~S has to do with baker's twine, of course. I love my twine and I thought  this would be a time to do a product challenge.
On this page I used the twine to frame my photos and I also did a doodle trail.

Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio) pattern paper (American Crafts and Craft Paper), stickers (October Afternoon) washi tape (Target), border punches (Fiskars), mists (Heidi Swapp), electronic cutter and cartridges (Cricut), twine (Timeless Twine), arrow (Scenic Route), paper clip and doily.

I love the twine trail and the little star confetti from my border punch. 

I use glossy accents is my glue of choice. I let it set up a bit before I lay my twine onto it.

Today, is another sketch reveal over at Scrapbook Challenges. This week's is sketch is perfect multiple photos or just one.

I love working with the old photos of my mom.

The tags under the photos have the name of each person in that photo written on ech tag, that way I won;t forget who is who. .

Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day. I want to thank everyone who has and who had family served to protect this country we live in. Thanks so much.
I had a Grandpa who was in WWII. He was part of D-Day. He was a very special man in my heat and wish he was still around so I could capture more of his life from so long ago.
So toady, if you know someone who has served give them a pat on the back for me.

Spring Cleaning

This week's challenge over at ABAC is "Spring Cleaning". We want you to use your and neglected items that you have. and create anything because this is anything that goes challenge.

This was a great challenge for me since I have a lot of old stuff that I should use more often. I created this cute gift bag with matching tag from a collection of My Mind's Eye papers I got in 2009.

Here is the bag and tag.

I love the all those papers together. I just glued these papers to a plain white gift bag.

Here is the tag. For the flower I used a punch and I fussy cut one of the flowers from one of the papers.

Perfect Fathers Day Card with TRN

Today's Card features the  flame collection from The Robin's Nest and the Love Bug Creations rumple ribbon. This time it is for Father's Day.

Supplies:

Chili Flame

Chili Cardstock

Black and White Clock

Chocolate Brown Classic Glitter Cardstock with Brown Glitter

Gold Classic Glitter Cardstock

Reindeer Glitter Stripe

Obsidian Diamond Dew Drops

Sunflower Rumple Ribbon

Border punch

Star and circle punch

Correction tape

Sentiment stamp

Black ink

Brown Chalk ink

On the clock paper I gave it an aged look by rubbing my chalk ink  on the edges. 

I gave the tag I cut out of the deer paper and distressed look by  applying the correction tape to the edges and scraping some of it off with a craft knife. I love the nice big bow. 

To make the seal first punch a star out of the Chili flame paper than punched out your circle. Doing the star first let's you make sure that your star is center.

The Robin's Nest Application Again

I can't believe my term is almost over. Those 5 months flew bye. Since I don't want to leave after next month I am reapplying for another term on their card team.

I created this elegant Anniversary card for my Grandparents anniversary in a couple of months.

Card:

1. Start with the paisley paper and cut and fold it to make my card base.
2. Add the gold glitter and snowflake paper but first I punched the corners.
3. Add the deer paper and the ribbon across the front.
4. Add the the chocolate brown paper that has been punched. Adhere it with foam squares.
5. Cut a stripe of the black paper into a banner shape.
6. Adhere the stickers, heart and dew drops to the last paper panel.
Envelope Seal:
1. Cut a 1" circle.
2. Cut a small heat out of the gold paper and adhere to circle.

Homemade Air Freshener Timeless Twine Style

Today, I am going to show you my latest project. It is a pretty homemade air freshener that is decorated with twine and washi tape.

I love to collect empty glass spice jars. I love that they can hold small things, make great vases and now air fresheners.  I added the grey twine around the top to hold the tulle and green twine pom-pom in place and I also glued it in between the tape.

You could fill it with potpourri or do like I did and fill it with baking soda and essential oil.

Marshall's Finds

In the last week I went to Marshall's to just look around to see what they had. I ended up finding some great items.
One was a storage box for my stickers. I have over 50 sheets of letter stickers in here with room to grow. I figure it could hold 60 packages of Thickers. I love that this can hold my 12" x 12" sticker sheets that came with collections. Best part it was only $12.99.

 It is divided into 4 cubbies.

 Next, I found two different Crate Paper 6" x 6" collections. I found these one two different trips.

I love my Marshall's as you can tell. I find a lot of cool scrappy stuff there. 

Sailing Together Over at S~N~S

Today's sketch reveal at S~N~S is great for when you have one great picture that you want to focus on.

Texture and Circular Challenge

   This month's technique challenge over at Embellish Me Happy is  to use circles  This is the main challenge but over at EMH we like to make it a little more fun. Here are some ideas that complement this challenge

   1.  Using Texture!  There are so many ways to use texture other than using cardstock that is textured:/  Using glitter, paints, crumbled paper, tearing paper, feathers, twine, stitching, flock, you name it!  See and some of you thought it just stopped at textured cardstock.

   2. In light of Mother's Day I know you all will have plenty of photo's to scrap so Make this your focus for this challenge.  Anything that will represent this day. 

   3. Use the colors red and Pink or Just Red or just Pink but you must one of the two colors!

 

   I tackled this challenge head one. If you know my work you know I love texture. I used texture paste on the banners. I added texture with twine, gems, stick pin, trims, etc.  This page is also of my mom. We were celebrating her last birthday at our apartment.

Sketch #344 and News

It has been a long time since I shared a Scrapbook Challenge page.

I stayed very close to the sketch. I ended up changing it a little where the journaling goes.  I used their latest sketch to create this wedding page.

ABAC Color Challenge

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there. 

This week is the start of a new challenge over at ABAC. This week it is a color challenge  

I created a tag for my mom. I tied it among a pink tulip plant that I gave to her this morning.

Stamps Storage Review

A few years ago I was lucky enough to win two Anna Griffin stamps storage binders.

I loved them when I first got them because they heal all my stamps with room to spare. I soon out grew them. The logical thing was to buy refills but they didn't sell any. However, I did find some refills on Joann's website that would fit in the binder. They are call Stamp N' Stor Storage Panels 5/Pkg

I order two packages of these and put them in one binder and took the original pocket pages put them in the other binder.  I love these the can fit an binder you get a any store. 

I took all my cling stamps out of there original packaging and stuck them to the new sleeves.

 They cling to the sleeves great and are easy to get to and put back. 

 The unmounted rubber stamps go into the pockets pages. 

You are probably thinking great way to store them  but how do you keep track of them. I take all the overlays from the cling stamps, punch a hole in a corner and put them on a binder ring.  In a permanent marker I wrote on them there names and manufacturer. 

Hope this help you to get your stamps a little more organized. I found out since I did this that I have used my stamps more than I use to.

 The thing that I like about The Robin's Nest papers that they can be easily altered with different color mediums which still allow the design still shows through.I applies inks and mists to the Damask paper.

The beautiful gold flourish paper is actually the Dino rub-on packaging. 

 Love the rumple ribbons. They are so easy to work with. 

Here is the seal. I just cut out a circle from the same color as the card base and added a punch flower from the flame line.
