Mini Album Hop

Welcome to the mini album blog hop. If you didn't arrive here from Charity's blog please hop back to the start from Kelly's blog and start the hop from the beginning because you wouldn't want to miss any of the great mini inspiration.

This might shock some of you but you are about to start a hop for mini albums. I only do one a year (that is a dec. daily) but I decided to join in on the fun since I had a clear mini album that I have had for years and knew I should use it soon. Plus, seeing my friend's, Kelly and hop host, amazing albums she creates it inspired me to jump in.
I decided the theme for it will be about the trip my dad and I are took to Ohio so I can get an eye surgery done. The album has no pics or journaling in it at the moment but once my vision is better I am heading to my studio to finish this up. It is made from one of the Clear Scraps album bases.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Echo Park, Glitz Designs, Crate Paper and Fancy Pants), photos filters (Crate Paper), doilies (Doodlebug Design), chipboard (Prima), sequins (Hazel & Ruby), mist (Tattered Angels), diecuts (Jillibean Soup, My Mind's Eye, Studio Calico and American Crafts), washi tape (Target. Queen & Co., Bella Blvd., My Mind's Eye and Doodlebug Design), stickers (Prima, Echo Park and Carta Bella)twine (Timeless Twine), journaling cards (Project Life), mini album (Clear Scraps), hole enforcers and punches (We R Memory Keepers and EK Success).

I used the We R Memory Keepers envelope punch board to create this giant envelope page. This will house little mementos of the trip.

On the back cover, I built the page under the plastic base so there will be no wear and tear on it.

Sitting Ducks - SBC #447

Today over at Scrapbook Challenges is another great Monday Sketch reveal. The sketch #447
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Die Cuts With a View and Crate Paper), buttons (Crate Paper), wood veneer (Studio Calico), embroidery floss (DMC), doily (The Paper Studio and SRM Stickers), resin embellishments (The Paper Studio), stickers (American Crafts and My Mind's Eye), ink (Quick Quotes), tag (Elle's Studio) and journal spot (Basic Grey).

Here are some close up of the details. That journaling spot came from a scrapbooking kit that I won years ago. I use to use it as a template to create that on other papers, that is why if you look closly you will see pen marking along the edges.
I didn't have any pattern papers that had ducks on it so I use the next best thing. I figured any bird would do in it place, the only criteria I had for it was that it had to be some king of wild bird.

Surgery Day

If this post is live that means I am in an eye clinic today having the CXL eye surgery. The surgery  at 8 this morning but have to show up 15 minutes before . The bad thing I am not a morning person and I am so not one  I don't have my coffee but with the surgery that is my only no no they told me not to do. I am sure my dad will have a nervous and super quiet girl on his hands. I will be taking time off from design teams and blogging to recovery but that doesn't mean I will have this blog inactive this month. Before, I went  I have scheduled this month's posts.

Relaxing Fun 1968 - SBC Trend

This month's trend we are taking a closer look at over at Scrapbook Challenges is the ever popular Nautical.
I created this cute nautical page with some old papers that I have had in my stash for years. I love how they work with these old photos of when my cousin and mom were little.
Supplies: cardstock (American Crafts and Cosmo Cricket), pattern paper (Cosmo Cricket), twine (Timeless Twine), electronic die cutter, cartridge and software (Provo Craft), flair (Studio G), sequins (Fancy Pants), mist (Heidi Swapp), tab folder (Webster's Pages), stitching template (American Crafts) doily (Doodlebug Designs), and decorative cutting blade (EK Success).

I am loving outline the diecut titles I do with the Cricut. I just take a .05 pen from Project Life and trace the word. It adds a nice depth to a flat title. The "fun" was stitched with twine and I fussy cut that little anchor from the pattern paper.
I love the little scatter of sequins and splatter of mist is the corner. It reminds me of splashing in the water, so perfect for this page.
