Fill In

I know, I posted the reveal for Simple Sketches last week but I am here today posting another one for this week's reveal of sketch #26. I am helping a fellow design team member this week. There won't be a sketch reveal for the next two weeks due to a super busy life of our sketch creator. Anyway, here is this week's sketch.
This was a fun sketch to work with. I dug through my digital photos files and found these photos of my brother's birthday that were taken 10 years ago. I figure it was tie to get these baby scrapped.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio),  pattern paper (Adonit and Crate Paper), ribbon (?), chipboard (Um Wow Studio), diecuts (Basic Grey and Jillibean Soup)), stickers (Crate Paper, American Crafts and SEM) mist (Heidi Swapp), mask (Studio Calico), flair (Studio Calico), metal (?), envelope (?), diecut machine (Provo Craft and Lifestyle), canvas (Canvas Corps.), sewing machine, black thread and diy enamel dots.
I love this misted banner. It was a little too big so I cut the top off.
Here is my usual element to my pages and that would be layers.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to catch the full reveal here

Ice of 2013

I know I am a bad blogger. I was suppose to post this Sat. but life got busy and I completely forgot. I have been in knee deep of cleaning my studio and it is all because of this beauty that came.
RÅSKOGKitchen cart, turquoise from Ikea

Enough of my excuse, here is the latest reveal for Simple Sketches and it uses #23 sketch.

When it came time to use the sketch I knew that those circles had to go but I love where they were on the page. I ended up changing them to snowflakes.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Cosmo Cricket, Studio Calico, I Lowe Scrap, and My Mind's Eye), brads (Eyelet Outlet), stickers (American Crafts, Jenni Bowlin and Studio Calico), washi (American crafts, Scotch Expressions and Bella Blvd.), chipboard (Um Wow Studios), doilies and manual die cutter and die (Lifestyle Crafts)
Here is a close up on the journaling. Here is a tip: if you mess up while you write just cover it up with a bit of washi. Add bits of washi throughout the journaling so it looks like it is suppose to be there.
I love how this title came out. The chevron is made from washi.

Be sure to stop by Simple Sketches blog to see the full reveal.
p.s this was made when I saw this date stamp challenge over at Scrapbook Circle, so I am entering it on there.

Hi Sundhine

This week at Simple Sketches is another great design team reveal that used #21 sketch.
I was inspired by the sun bean on this sketch so I knew for sure I wanted to work with some summer photos of my mom when she was little at Grand Haven.
Supplies: pattern paper (Crate Paper), twine (Timeless Twine), doily (Sunny Side-up Bakery),, wood veneer (Studio Calico), sticker ( Fancy Pants Designs and American Crafts), chipboard ( Bo Bunny), flair (Studio Calico), sequins ( Treehouse Studio), diy enamel dots and staples.
I love scrapping out of order and season. It gives a chance to change supplies often so I don't get tired of what is in my stash. Plus, can you think of any better time to scrap summer pics. It is winter and where I live you get the full effects of it but I like it.
Anyways, the background paper looks like it was made to be used with this sketch. It looks like clouds but with an rainbow of colors. It was for Maggie Holmes first collection. Yes same last name but no relation. To create the sun I drew a partial circle, and glued some enameled dots inside of the border. I also glued some sequins in there too to give it some depth.
Be sure to stop by Simple Sketches to see our newest member.

A Christmas Delight

Hello, everyone I hope everyone had a good New Year's day. The eve could have went better I had a killer neck pain that has finally gone today. Anyway here is this week's sketch reveal for Simple Sketches
For this page I ended up using some of goodies I bought on Black Friday in Studio Calico's grab kits / bags. I must say if you ever see these on their site be sure to grab a few. You get a lot of product for hardly any money.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), patten paper (American Crafts), doily (Studio Calico and Hobby Lobby), sequins (The Tree Company), stickers (Studio Calico, October Afternoon, and American Crafts), gelato (Faber-Castell),  stamp (Glitz Design), ink (Close to my Heart), ribbon (The Paper Studio), star confetti (Studio Calico)
For the pattern paper on this Christmas page I ended up using non-themed paper it was easy to do since they were Christmas colors.
On a side note, I made a crafty New Year's resolution to use more ribbon. As you can see I used some at the bottom of the red paper. I hope I stick to it since I have a lot of ribbon to use.

Elf Antics

I can't believe Christmas is in four days. I am sure everyone is super busy getting the last minute things done but I am glad to see you took some time out to see the latest sketch reveal from Simple Sketches.
I stuck to the sketch for my page. I love the slit tilt and layers. I just changed the size of my photos.
Supplies cardstock (The Paper Studio and American Crafts), pattern paper (Pretty Little Studio and Lily Bee Designs), flair (Studio Calico) doily (Studio Calico), sequins (Tree House Studio), stickers (American Crafts and Studio Calico), washi tape (Target)
This year I was the first time my family and I did the Elf on the Shelf. Every night I hid him and my parent and brother find it in the morning. Usually, my dad ends up re-hiding it or doing something to the scene I set up. My family like looking for it and plus, it gives me something to photograph on days I don't have anything for my Dec. Dail but so far I have other things.
Thanks for stopping by and hope on over to Simple Sketches to see the full reveal. Have a wonderful Christmas and God bless.

It is a Party

This week I used some older birthday pics from Buster's birthdays for this Simple Sketches #15 sketch. It is a simple sketch and I love it. My favorite part is the large chevron so I knew I want to use that design element on my page.

Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Fancy Pants Designs),stickers (American Crafts and Fancy Pants Designs), post it (K & Co.) die cuts (Basic Grey and 7 Gypsies), washi tape (Scotch), flair (Zappy Dots), twine (Timeless Twine), sequins and diy enamel dots.
I am head over heels in love with this page. It look so fun and happy that work great with birthday photos. I was saving this flair badge for a special page and this must have been it because it finished the bottom cluster perfectly. I have a little confession to make. When I finished this page I realized that the stars were upside down. I guess you could also say the stars are going diagonal too. I am saying the later so I don't think I made a big mistake.

Christmas Company

Today, is a special day. It is not only a Simple Sketches reveal it is also my Dad's birthday today.  Happy Birthday Dad.
This week's sketch was a great one because it was an easy one to accomplish that still allowed me to add my touches.

Supplies: cardstock (The PAper Studio), pattern paper (My Mind's Eye, Simple Stories) stickers (American Crafts, Simple Stories and My Mind's Eye)Flair (Zappy Dots), die cuts (7 Gypsies and Pink Paislee), rub-ons (The Paper Company), washi tape (Target), mist (Ranger), doily and diy enamel dots
This page was super fun to create. I use something I was going to toss on this page. The item was the rub-ons used on the photos. I have a hate/hate relationship with these because they usually don't stick but this day they work.
I also used a Zapp Dot flair badge on this page. I love how this looks on the page. If I didn't add that to that spot it would have looked unfinished and boring.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
God Bless.

#11 Simple Sketches Reveal

As promised here is the three day late Simple Sketches #11 sketch reveal.
I followed the sketch closely. The only thing I didn't add was the title. Every once in a while I do a titleless page. The main reason is that I couldn't think of anything than the overused Christmas ones.

Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (My Mind's Eye), stickers (The Paper Studio), diecuts (Pink Paislee and The Robin's Nest), overlay (Crate Paper), twine (Timeless Twine), gems (Eyelet Outlet and Prima), stamp (Deep Red Stamps) mist (Heidi Swapp), ink (Quick Quotes), gelatos (Faber-Castell)and diy enamel dots.
The love how this page came out. I ended up using only two pattern paper scraps on this page. I love the clean look of this page but it still has my style on it. .Thanks for stopping by and tomorrow I am going to share with you another page I created.

SS #9 Reveal

Happy Saturday everyone. Hope it is nice and sunny where you are at because it is not here. Here it is cold and rainy (it just cleared up, LOL) which I don't normally mind but today I have a pet costume contest to get to and other things to do and I am already dragging. Yes, I am typing this up with a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Biggby's in front of me but that might be a bad thing since coffee makes me sleepy most of the time.
Here is the the Simple Sketches  #9 sketch reveal
Here is what I came up with.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Fancy Pants Designs), stickers (Fancy Pants Designs, American Crafts and Glitz Designs), flair (Studio G), doily, diy enamel dots, washi tape (Scotch and K & Co.) and mist (Studio Calico)
To tell the truth when I finished this page I didn't like it but since then I think this has to be my favorite one I did this month. Strange how that worked out. The page is of my mom when she is her late teens.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out Simple Sketches blog every Saturday for a new sketch.
God Bless,

Call Me

Sorry, for such a late Simple Sketches reveal. My week has been out of control working on my cards for Paper Crafts World Card Making Day contest. In one week 12 cards were made and onto hoping they will arrive safely.
Anyways, here is the latest sketch. I love the tags and how this layout keeps your eye moving around the page.
Here is my take.
Supplies: cardstock (The PAper Studio), pattern paper (Fancy Pants Designs), envelope(Fancy Pants Designs), sticker (American Crafts), twine (Timeless Twine), mask (Studio Calico), washi tape (K&Co.) and diy enamel dots.
When  was a Hobby Lobby last week I was on the hunt for a new collection of paper to play with on WCMD. When I saw hey have the Trendsetter collection pad from Fancy Pants I jumped on it. I had it earlier this year and went through it in a month.  I thought the paper was perfect for my subject since it already had the "Call Me" printed on the paper.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to hop on over to the SS blog to see what the other ladies came up with.

A Fruity Layout

This week's  is another sketch reveal over at Simple Sketches. This week's was a little dauting to me since the tilt was greater than I every do.
In the end I love how it came out.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Echo Park), stickers (American Crafts), washi tape (Scotch Expressions tape and ?), twine (Timeless Twine), diecutsThe Robin's Nest), diy enameled dots, stain (Tim Holtz), mask (Studio Calico), modeling paste, mist (Heidi Swapp), stamp (K & Co.), ink (Stampabilities), Veneers(Studio Calico), vellum (?) and doily
The subject of this pages is of the pear and apple trees on a property we own. We just got it this year and didn't know that these we on it sinc we looked at it in the winter. I have to say the apples are crisp, sweet but is slightly sour. I love them. The pears I have yet to try.
On this page I got to use a really old piece of vellum from my first scrapbook paper I ever bought. I think I got it at Meijer or Target. The newest item I used on here were some wood veeners I friend from online sent me. So as you can tell I like to mix my supplies so nothing gets wasted.
Be sure to stop by Simple Sketches every Saturday to see a new sketch and a great reveal.

Say Cheese

Today is another great sketch reveal over at Simple Sketches. This is the sketch this week's team had to work with.
I kept it fairly the same but I added an extra photo.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Inmagisince), twine (Timeless Twine), washi tape (Scoth tape), diy enamled dots, stencil (Fancy Pants Designs), stickers (American Crafts and October Afternoon) and stitch template (American Crafts)
On this page I was able to use an very old pattern paper that I have had for over 5 years. Even though I kept this page fairly simple I went crazy with twine. I outline the side pahotos with it and did the stitched camera.
Be sure to check out SS every Satudar for the a new sketch reveal.

Time Flies

I can't believe I have neglected my little blog this month. I have been super busy making layouts for the Sizzling Summer Sketches for Scrapbook Challenges. Along with our usual Monday sketch reveal there has been a new sketch reveal every weekday this month.
I also had to make a hard decision too. I decided to step down from the ABAC team. I am grateful to Clara for allowing me to join the team since I had no design team experience. I am also thankful for Susan to taking over as the head of the whole thing and to all my fellow team members.
Now, onto some other news that is good. I am going to be on two new design teams, Simple Sketches and Zappy Dots. Simples Sketches is a sketch blog that offers great sketches that can work with all scrapbooker styles. Zappy Dots offer Flair badges that can be changed into magnetic jewelry or magnets.
Since, I can't close a post without posting photo I want to show you what was I saw at a bank's parking lot a couple of days ago. I counted a eleven wild turkeys.

The photo was taken at 7:45 in the morning.
