34 Years

I can't believe it It is Thursday night and I have three days off from working with my dad.  This is super rare. Last time it happened was in June.I am excited to finally write ten + blog posts and have a little sewing fun. I have to start my parents anniversary present. I am planning on making His & Hers toss pillows for their bed. I have to have it done by the 12th. Wish me luck and I hope it don't take so long to cut the letters out of the fabric. At least, I have the card done.
Here it is. It took a little longer than I planned. The reason was I am out of card making practice. I  think it has been like two months since I created a card. Crazy I know but will soon to change.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Crate Paper and My Mind's Eye), sticker (My Mind's Eye), tag (Elle's Studio), twine (Timeless Twine), sequins (Studio Calico), flair (Zappy Dots), punch board (We R Memory Keepers), gelatos Faber-Castell), chipboard letters and doily

Since my dad's name start with a "S" and my mom's a "J"  I thought it would be a cute little personal touch. I just took naked chipboard and colored it with the gelatos.

I love those starts. I just found them in my stash from a Studio Calico kit I got a few months ago. I just ended up putting them on a cake stand and forgot about them.
This card was perfect to enter in current challenge over at Just Two Midwest Scrap Girls. It was to use all the letters in the alphabet. I am glad I had that alphabet paper from My Mind;s Eye.

Good Eats - Sketch #406

When it comes down to any holiday meal my family turns it into a big feast for the four of us and a dog. However, on Thanksgiving we have cut back from years past. We use to do an lebanese dressing but ended up using those seasonings in the meat fatya. Because it has changed I thought it would be worth documenting how our Thanksgiving feast is now.
Supplies: cardstock (American Crafts and The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Echo Park and My Mind's Eye),stickers (American Crafts, Me & My Big Ideas and Pebbles Inc.), washi tape (My Mind's Eye and We R Memory Keepers), flair (Zappy Dots), sequins (Hobby Lobby), wood veneer (Studio Calico kit), border (Fancy Pants Designs), enamel dots (My Mind's Eye), chipboard (Um Wow Studio), pen (Project Life), journaling cards (Project Life), punch (We R Memory Keepers), ink (Quick Quotes)electronic die cutter and cartridge (Provo Craft) and doily.
Here is a closeup on the title. The "Good" I created a little banner with washi tape and outlined it with a pen. Because I have a lot of packs of stickers with letters are missing and mixed the stickers together but kept them in one color but with different tones.

Thanks to my friend's great genius mind (Kelly), she shared how you do a mini album with journaling cards and washi tape. I translated that to my layout so I could write down the recipes of the food on each card. Now, I just have to figure out how much of stuff goes into my dressing. I do a lot of eyeballing when I cook. In other words, I am the only one who knows how to make it.
That is it for today, I need to hurry and finish typing this so I can get ready to do some work with my dad. He is putting flooring in and I am painting.

Last of the Valentine Cards

As I promised, here are the rest of the valentine cards I made last week. These cards are going to be entered in Just Two midwest scrap Girls Challenge valentine challenge.
This one is for my mom. I had the letter stickers for a while and I haven't used them in a couple of years because so many of the letters were gone.  Just played letter doctor to my needed letters for the card.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio and A Muse Studio), pattern paper (Crate Paper and Pink Paislee), stickers (American Crafts, My Mind's Eye, and K &Co.), punch (EK Success and We R Memory Keepers), diecut (The Robin's Nest), twine (Timeless Twine), mask (Studio Calico), mist (Heidi Swapp), sequins (Treehouse Company), stitch template (American Crafts), ink (Stampabilities), stamps (Stampin' Up!), washi tape (Doodlebug Design Inc.) and doilies (Sunny Side-up Bakery and Doodlebug Design Inc.)
This one is for my brother. The heart was fussy cut from the paper I used on my dad's card.

The last card is for Buster. Yes, he is a dog but he is a very special part of the family so he gets a card too. It might surprise people that he actually looks at it and wants it by him so he can see it.

Christmas Company

Today, is a special day. It is not only a Simple Sketches reveal it is also my Dad's birthday today.  Happy Birthday Dad.
This week's sketch was a great one because it was an easy one to accomplish that still allowed me to add my touches.

Supplies: cardstock (The PAper Studio), pattern paper (My Mind's Eye, Simple Stories) stickers (American Crafts, Simple Stories and My Mind's Eye)Flair (Zappy Dots), die cuts (7 Gypsies and Pink Paislee), rub-ons (The Paper Company), washi tape (Target), mist (Ranger), doily and diy enamel dots
This page was super fun to create. I use something I was going to toss on this page. The item was the rub-ons used on the photos. I have a hate/hate relationship with these because they usually don't stick but this day they work.
I also used a Zapp Dot flair badge on this page. I love how this looks on the page. If I didn't add that to that spot it would have looked unfinished and boring.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
God Bless.

Black and White Gift Ensemble

Today is my first projects as a member of the Zappy Dots design team. I have to say I am loving it. Their designs are great and the size of them are workable too.
I fell in love with these Damask Hearts
I ended up creating a trio of things perfect for gift giving.

Time Flies

I can't believe I have neglected my little blog this month. I have been super busy making layouts for the Sizzling Summer Sketches for Scrapbook Challenges. Along with our usual Monday sketch reveal there has been a new sketch reveal every weekday this month.
I also had to make a hard decision too. I decided to step down from the ABAC team. I am grateful to Clara for allowing me to join the team since I had no design team experience. I am also thankful for Susan to taking over as the head of the whole thing and to all my fellow team members.
Now, onto some other news that is good. I am going to be on two new design teams, Simple Sketches and Zappy Dots. Simples Sketches is a sketch blog that offers great sketches that can work with all scrapbooker styles. Zappy Dots offer Flair badges that can be changed into magnetic jewelry or magnets.
Since, I can't close a post without posting photo I want to show you what was I saw at a bank's parking lot a couple of days ago. I counted a eleven wild turkeys.

The photo was taken at 7:45 in the morning.
