34 Years

I can't believe it It is Thursday night and I have three days off from working with my dad.  This is super rare. Last time it happened was in June.I am excited to finally write ten + blog posts and have a little sewing fun. I have to start my parents anniversary present. I am planning on making His & Hers toss pillows for their bed. I have to have it done by the 12th. Wish me luck and I hope it don't take so long to cut the letters out of the fabric. At least, I have the card done.
Here it is. It took a little longer than I planned. The reason was I am out of card making practice. I  think it has been like two months since I created a card. Crazy I know but will soon to change.
Supplies: cardstock (The Paper Studio), pattern paper (Crate Paper and My Mind's Eye), sticker (My Mind's Eye), tag (Elle's Studio), twine (Timeless Twine), sequins (Studio Calico), flair (Zappy Dots), punch board (We R Memory Keepers), gelatos Faber-Castell), chipboard letters and doily

Since my dad's name start with a "S" and my mom's a "J"  I thought it would be a cute little personal touch. I just took naked chipboard and colored it with the gelatos.

I love those starts. I just found them in my stash from a Studio Calico kit I got a few months ago. I just ended up putting them on a cake stand and forgot about them.
This card was perfect to enter in current challenge over at Just Two Midwest Scrap Girls. It was to use all the letters in the alphabet. I am glad I had that alphabet paper from My Mind;s Eye.

Tulips

I know a late post for me but I wanted to share a layout I just completed for The Two Midwest Scrap Girls Challenge which just happens to end within the hour. The challenge was to scraplift a page. I knew whose page I was going to. The creator of the page is Maggie Holmes. I am head-over-heels in love with her style and products. My style is like hers and so I found very easy to lift her page.

 Here is my page.
Supplies: pattern paper (Crate Paper and American Crafts), twine (Timeless Twine), enamel dots (My Mind's Eye), stickers (Lily Bee Designs), stamps (Glitz Designs), ink (Stampabilities) flower (Pebbles Inc.), photo filter (Crate Paper), sequins (Hobby Lobby) and doily (Hobby Lobby)
Here is a close-up

I love how this page came out. The only Maggie Holmes paper I have are the 6x6 pads. I ended up piecing four sheets together to create the base for my layout. I am still working on the Dear Lizzy Enchanted collection so I mixed those papers in.
This page is of the tulips I gave my mom last weekend. They are her favorite flower and she had no idea I was getting them for her.
I will be posting another blog post later tonight. This time it will be for the Kaiser Craft design team application.

Oh We Are So Sweet Together - Card

If you are looking for the Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop click here
I am so happy I got to play with the current challenge over at my friend,Heather, blog. Even, though I wasn't crazy over the colors in the color I thought it would be fun to do.
This is my second card I made for this challenge. The first one might never see the light of day again. It was turning into a train wreck so I thought it was best to start over before the challenge beat me.
Supplies: pattern paper (Fancy Pants Designs), sticker (American Crafts), chipboard (Crate Paper), transparency (Webster's Pages), tag (Elle's Studio), veneer (Studio Calico), sequins (?), doily (Sunny Side-up Bakery), card base (Studio G) washi (Target), twine (DoodleBug Design.) and ink (Prima)
I am so happy how this came out. I love the shape of it and the all the fun elements. I think my favorite element is the card base. I got them from my Secret Santa last year. The holes were already there but I wanted them to pop so I covered the inside with a solid paper.
