Poker Dog

This layout is sure to bring a smile to your face.  The costume was something I made for Buster for a pet costume photo contest. I love these photos of him. I think he has a good poker face and a great hand.

Another Silly Layout

This is the last page I made last weekend. This one was based on Sketchy Thursday 7.14 sketch.
This style of layout is one I don't do often enough . I love the boldness of the journaling tag. It also has my two new addictions on it, spray ink and pom-pom trim. This page sure makes a statement.

This page is the second page on a 2 page layout I did about Easter traditions. This page shows the food that my family have every Easter. I used July 21st sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches for the second page.

Even though they look is different they work well together since I used some of the same elements on both pages. I used a the same kind of banner and I used floral elements on both.

I love how this came out. I love the circles in the background. I brought an unexpected element to this page which is the tag. It is a Formica counter top sample that I dressed up with a sticker, paper, floss and a button. The word "tennis" is actually a brad that is shaped like a tennis ball. How perfect is that?

I was able to put this page together within 30 minutes. I love the simplicity of this sketch which allowed me to add items that I would normally wouldn't use. Like that star I had that for years and I finally found a use for it that really makes a statement.

News and Roasted Veggies

  My news is about one of my Artfire studios ( Critter Crafts) I have recently decided to close it and move all my pets items over to MJ's Kraze. This means that you can shop from this one studio to find handmade items for you and your pet. This does not mean that I am trying to get rid of pet items. I am still adding new pet items to MJ's Kraze. I just wanted to simplify my life so I had more time creating.
  As I promised I am going to show how to make these veggies that my dad just can't get enough of.

Ingredients:

2/3c. extra virgin olive oil
5 large zucchini 
2 large onions                                       
4 - 6 garlic cloves
3 T. dried parsley

3 T. dried oregano

2 - 3 t. salt ( I used kosher) 

Directions: 

1. Preheat oven to 450.

2. Peel and slice zucchini in half. Then cut them in to about 1/4" planks.3. Cut onions in half and cut in 1/4" slices.
4. Mince garlic cloves.
5. Mix all the ingredients together.
6. Spread everything out on two large baking sheets in a single layer.
7. Cook for 15 minutes, after 10 minutes flip the zucchini. Veggies should be soft.

Fourth of July.

  Happy Independence Day everyone. I just wanted to show off a card I made using red, white and blue.

This card is just made out of plain cardstock, stickers, a star punch and adhesive jewels.
I love to cook and you sure can tell that since I make everything from scratch, including the barbeque sauce.   
   My 4th of July food is potato salad, barbeque turkey, and strawberry pie and I think my dad is going to talk me into making some roasted zucchini. I think he is addicted to the oven roasted veggies.
I will post some pictures soon and maybe I will let a couple of the recipes out.

Treat Layout

I had these photos of Buster that were begging me to be scrapped. I used a Sketch Thursday 6.23 sketch to create this cute page. Here is the sketch.

 The page is about Buster wanting his bedtime treat so bad that he couldn't wait get to his bed in the next room instead he sat in his cage.
Supplies: Pattern paper: Early bird collection from Cosmo Cricket, orange paper- Fancy Pants Designs; Cardstock- kraft and dark gray, Ribbon from Basic Grey; Pom-pom trim from Simplicity; Spray inks from Ranger and Smooch; Stickers from EK Success.

Sketch It To Me Blog Hop‏

Welcome to a Sketch Blog Hop. Everybody in the hop got the same sketch and had to create a scrapbook page and a card or another page. Here is what I started with.

Here is what I did with it.

Close up on the journaling.

 Since I made an 8x8 page I reduce the size of my photos and the amount. I also moved the photos above the stripes but other than that i kept it the same.( Papers from Crate Paper).
My second project was of course a card since I have been making them for most of my life.

You can see where I used the sketch for this card. The focal point is turned and now it is covering the stripes. It also lost the extra embellishments. ( Paper for Get Crafty collection from Die Cuts With a View).

Spring Blog Hop

I am going to share with you hoppers how to create this cute little Easter basket.

First you need to cut twenty-six 1/2" x 11"  strips of cardstock.  Use eight of the strips to create the basket base. Weave them to get something to look like this.
Tips:
1. Use glue to hold everything in place.
2. Bend every other strip like in the photo below to make the weaving process easier.
3. 3 1/2" will be unweaved on all sides.

Once the base is done fold up the unweaved portion of the strips to create the sides of the basket.

Work your way around the basket to create the sides. One strip will not be enough to finish one row.
Tips:
1. On the first and last rows glue it the weaves together. 
2. Glue the second strip to the first one when you need.
3. End each strip and the inside of basket.
To make the handle you will need the six remaining strips. It kind of looks like a twisted paper chain.
I show you with different colors so it will be easier to see.
First lay two strips like this:and glue the ends together.

 Then fold the one that is on the bottom over the top. Like this.

Keep repeating this step until you use your remaining strips.
Tip:
1. Glue extra strips when you need them.
 Here is what the handle design looks.

Attach the handle with brads. To decorate, I used a crepe paper to make a ruffle. Ribbon and flowers are them added. If you are impatience like me you will probably use hot glue to attach the decorations.

Good morning everyone and Happy St. Patrick's Day. I want to share with you three cute "green" items I made.
Here is a card I made for the Cards on Artfire Guild March challenge. The Challenge was to make a card using just the color green. I think I accomplished that simple task. Now I need to restock my green supplies. 

I guess the card didn't use all my green items but the scrapbook page sure did.

The last item is for dogs and I sure will bring a smile to your face. Here is a Shamrock headband for dogs.
Doesn't Buster look funny cute.

P.S. You better are wearing something green if you don't want to get pinched. I already did once today.
