ABAC First Challenge

Welcome to the very first challenge from ABAC. To keep it easy for the first challenge the theme was anything goes. So this week I made two ATC's, which will end up being given to my parents on their upcoming anniversary.
I used pattern paper, rub-ons and stickers to create he design of the cards. After I had that done I applies a layer of glossy accents. While it was wet I added a thick piece of transparency to the top. Make sure you rub the front to remove air pockets and to smooth the glue.

I am loving these chipboard Thickers I won a couple of months ago from Club CK.
I used the them for the "Baby" title.
For this baby page of mine I scraplifted this layout from Laura M. (aka moongirl).
As you can tell I love my trims and washi tapes.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come back this Sunday for ABAC challenge and reveal.
p.s. Stop by my friend Erin B for her August giveaway.

Hoilday Cheer

Last week I was able to work on a page of my mom's first Christmas.
I use the current ScrapFit sketch. It is found here.
One this page I have applied Glossy Accents to a few of the circles that I drew stars on and sprinkled glitter on them while it was still wet. After it was dried I bent the paper to make it look like cracked glass.

I have not been spending much time lately crafting due to the fact I have been redoing my entire scrap room. I hope to have this done before winter.Until then, I will be stealing away to the basement at night to craft.
Also I want to remind you about this Sunday ABAC new challenge is up. You might want to stop by now to see some blog candy that is being given away.

Challenge Me Happy (DT Call)

Hi everyone. I am here today to show you what I created with the Challenge Me Happy #27 challenge. This was a recipe challenge which I absolutely love.
one or more stamps ( the ticket is stamped behind the "Sunshine" accordion fold rosette. I also stamped on the background paper to give a slight aged loo to it. )
two photos
ribbon or twine or both
two or more paper clips
no cardstock ( this was hard to do. I love my Kraft)
three patterned papers or more
Here is what I came up with.
Since no card stock was allowed I used a black barker with a craft knife built in it to mat the hexagons.

Information

I am going to finally share what design team I got on. It is called Anything But A Card (ABAC). It is a new challenge blog that will be revealing it's first challenge on Sept 2nd. The challenges are biweekly but each Sunday you will see our teams approach to them.
This is how the whole thing started. I applied for a different DT (Shop Our Stash) that Clara runs which I didn't make it but she contacted me saying she would like me to join this new team. Of course, I said yes. What I found funny about this is on Club CK you will notice my screen name in Cards4Ever. I guess it should be changed now ABACCards4Ever. Just kidding I am still going to be C4E.
I hope to see you over there next month.

Sad & Happy

Today I want to share some news today.
Sad:
I decided to close down my Artfire store after two years on there. I came to realize that it was costing me more to run than I was making.

Happy:
I found out I made my first design team after a year of trying.
If you are looking for a great giveaway a friend of my, Ashley Horton is having a fab prize.

Old Stuff

For the Friday challenge over at Frosted Designs I created this cute card with some old stuff I have had in my stash for years. The only new item was the blue paper from October Afternoon.
The rest of the pattern paper is from Nana's collection be Die Cuts With a View and the sticker is by Marcelal by K & Company.
Goes to show you if you hold onto something long enough it will come back into style just like my chevron, unless it was never trendy.
I used the last card sketch from Frosted Designs.

Warning Long

This post is going to be long with a lot of poor quality photos since it is after 11 p.m.when I took these.
This week I played along with the Coredinations online crop.
Here is what I did for each challenge.

Day 1 July 17th
1. Lydia -Ad challenge – Chocolate Box
For this page I kept it fairly simple and used the colors and shapes found in the ad.
2. Kim -Trendy things- White wash
For this page I used all the trendy stuff. I even made my own chevrons using the how-to here
3. Char -Antiquing- Core Essentials
I crumpled up the half circles on this page to give the paper an antique look.
4. Debbie – Cardstock only- Core Essentials
This page I used only core cardstock.
5. Jennifer -Strip It- Challenge- Core-prize pack
I used paper stripes I embossed to cover this frame.
6. Melissa-handmade embellishment challenge- Vintage Cardstock
I created the folded flowers for this simple card
7. Andrea- Core Die Cut challenge – Core Cuts
I actually used my Cricut to cut the die cuts. I think I am going to have to use my little bug more. I love it.
Day 2 July 18th
8. Lydia- Color Challenge – Spotted Collection
When I saw the colors for this challenge my mind went to Christmas. So I created this card using no Christmas theme products.
9. Ellen – Pinterest Challenge – Glitter Silk
I love the grid pattern and the big photo I used to covr up the not so perfect grid lines.
11. Debbie- All Cardstock Challenge – Core Amour
On this page I only used core cardstock but I also add stickers for the title.
12. Cari – scoring challenge- Tim Holtz Kraft Core
I scored those three different black pieces differently.
13. Kristine – sketch – Core Prize pack
I kept this page true to the sketch.
Can you believe it I did all these different projects with only two different Coredinations card pads. Black Magic and Cosmo Cricket Classics.

Washi Love

When I first heard about this Japaneses style tape I didn't get the what the big fuss was. When I got my little hands on it I began to get it. Since I am cheap when it comes to my scrapbooking supplies when I want to try something I have only bought the cheap stuff from Target and Walmart.
When I saw the Friday challenge over at Frosted Designs I knew I wanted to do it and I used their sketch #45.
I changed the sketch a bit but it is still recognizable.

Bad Me

I know I said I would say the other card I made for those two challenges I mentioned in previous post on Sunday but life got in the way.
I have been feeling blah for the last couple of days. Allergies, prepping floor materials for my dad and the heat has gotten to me.
Here is the card I promised.
The old was the birthday stamp I have had for over 5 years. It is and old EK Success roller stamp. The new is basically everything else.

Hello

I want to show you today a card I made last week during Club CK's one-hour challenge (which this only took less than 30 minutes ti do). I also wanted to add Kim Kesti's challenge she has on her blog here. I will show you anther card I made tomorrow using these two challenges again.
