Favorites

I just want to do a quick post this evening to show some of my favorite recent layouts I did over the last two weeks.

This one I used Artful Delight's March sketch

I use spray mist with little embellishments.

This one I stitched the word "Wish" on the second page.

I made the stick pin that is in the top cluster and I used the Paper Bakery #1 March sketch

4. What is is the refrigerator. Turkey and sweet potatoes. Yummy.
5. Computer with weather warnings. Tornado watch and flood advisory. Early for this time of the year.
6. Backyard before it started to rain.
7. Thanksliving journal. Part of a challenge over at Club CK hosted by Erika.
8. Messy craft room. I created a layout and a card.
9. Sleeping Buster.
10. Cozy slippers. So soft.
11. Clean flannel sheets are ready to be put away.
12. Vaporizer and eye drops. Helps dry eyes while sleeping.

Blue Birthday

Here is my second post for today. I guess I am making up for the lack of posting from last week.
I want to show you this card that is going to be my grandmother's birthday card, since her favorite color is blue. Now I have to wait 5 months to give it to her.

Party Ensembles

As I promise here is the big project I have been working on the last week. It is a party ensemble I created for the Paper Crafts contest (Warning there are a lot of photos)

The banner says "CELEBRATE".  Banner Close-ups:

Matching gift bag, card,  bow and tag.
 Gift bag:
 Card:
 Matching seal for the card.
 Bow and tag.
To/ from stamp on back of tag.
Bow. I t is made out of the same paper I used for all this.
I used three different paper collection to make this decor. Dear Lizzy (Enchanted),  K & CO. (Amy Butler papers) and My Mind's Eye (Laundry Line).
I just didn't make this for the contest. I am actually going to use some of it for my birthday this month.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope this inspired you to create your own party decor.

Paper Bakery

I saw this cute sketch over a the Paper Bakery site and knew I had to make a card with it.
I came up with this classic looking card.

Three Made

Thursday my mom and I made cards together. I made three while she made one I didn't get to see hers since it is my birthday card.
I love this # 254 sketch from CPS
I made two cards using a scrap pack I bought over five years ago.

I also made this monochromatic card for the card challenge over at Club CK.

Front Page

Last summer, while my dad was working a person for the newspaper wanted to take some photos of the makeover a building was getting done. He ended up getting is picture on front page of the paper. Let's just say my we both a couple of copies and my grandparents were handed a copy (from a friend) to keep.
I used the the Frosted Designs # 35 sketch and I also made it for the current challenge

Junk Drawer Card

First before showing the card I want to tell you about this giveaway a friend of my over on Club CK is doing. She is giving away a One year subscription to Creating Keepsakes Magazine. Here is the link to her blog for more info.
Now onto the card.
I took a challenge over on Club CK. It was last week's card challenge (use an junk drawer item on a card).
I use a Formica counter top sample for the black piece behind the sentiment. I also use this sketch over at cardabilities.

DIY Hand Sewn Template

If you are like me and you don't have any of the templates that are for hand sewing design elements like swirls, I have an easy fix.
All you need is:
a tracing wheel
flourish stamp (not too intricate)
ink
cardstock scrap
pin
Step 1. Stamp image onto the cardstock.
Step 2. Trace with tracing wheel. Use enough pressure so little bumps are left on the back of the paper.
Step 3 On the reveres side of paper rub the ink pad lightly across bumps.
Step 4 Poke holes with the pin where you see the dots.
Now you have a DIY template for hand sewing.
How to use:
1. Place the template over the desired area of your scrapbook page or card .
2. Use a pin to pierce a hole in your scrapbook page for each hole provided in the stitching template.
3. Remove the template, and use the holes as your guide to create a stitched design.
