Sunday's Best

The layout I am about to share today originally was going to be about our worst rain in Feb. of 2018 but the papers I decided to use dictated a different path so I had to change photos. I used the Stuck? Sketches Mar. 1 challenge
Here is my take, as you can see a rain/flooding picture wouldn't have worked that well with all the colors I chose.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics), pattern paper (Fancy Pants Designs and Crate Paper), die cuts (Heidi Swapp, Pretty Little Studio, and Chic Tags), embroidery floss (We R Memory Keepers),  foam squares, foil (Heidi Swapp), tools (Minc), stickers (Fancy Pants Designs and A Beautiful Mess), doily (DoodleBug Designs), and mist (Tattered Angels)

The layers here just make me my heart happy. I hand cut the circles and flowers and add some foam adhesive to give it a little dimension. I add a stitched circle to ground the design.

The foil butterfly was done with the Minc. I love that machine but wished it didn't draw so much energy, it also causes my lights to flicker. Now I either run during the day so that is the only thing on or a night with a flashlight, aka tablet light.

Lemon & Custard

Last month was the yearly making of Packzi, baked filled doughnuts.  I try to document this baking treat every year. It is the only time of the year there are doughnuts in the house.
Supplies: pattern paper (Crate Paper and American Crafts), stickers (Fancy Pants Designs, Pink Paislee, A Beautiful Mess and Pink Fresh), ephemera (Canvas Corps.), doily (DoodleBug Designs), flair (Clique Kits), die cuts (Pretty Little Studio), frames (Crate Paper and Heidi Swapp), tools sewing machine and Minc) and sequins (SpiegelMom Scraps)

Here is a closer look. I am loving the mirror stickers.

I love the splatter, sequins scatter and the mix sewing machine stitching.

Whack a Bunny

Hello! here is day two of my stash busting challenge. If you want to see the kit I used to check here and if you want to see the first project check here.

I entitled this page "Whack a Bunny" because of the photo of my mom looks like she was getting ready to whack the Easter bunny with her sucker.
Supplies: cardstock (American Crafts), pattern paper (Crate Paper, Pretty Little Studio, and Fancy Pants Designs), mist (Tattered Angles), stickers (American Crafts), chipboard (Crate Paper), journaling cards (Becky Higgins), trim (Heidi Swapp), cut apart (Pretty Little Studio), flair (Pretty Little Studio), typewriter (We R Memory Keepers), and washi tape (The Paper Studio)

I added the lace trim to this page because it seemed so fitting with Easter.
Check back tomorrow for the last layout I created with this kit.

Starting From the Same Place - Artist Collaboration Blog Hop

<!-- end InLinkz script -

Welcome to the the artist collaboration featuring Stenciling Girl ProductsAmazing Casting Products and Beacon. This hop features over 30 artists that all started with the same items that are pictured above. We had  free range when it came on out type of projects we could do as long as we use all the products we were sent.

This is what I came up with. It is a 12" x 12 canvas with an inspiring quote from Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Here is a closer look of all the details.

This cluster is my favorite section of this canvas. I got a little messy with my paints.

This bow started as a piece of fabric and was stiffened with textured paste.

Freeze Frame - SBC #495

Hope everyone is while rested for the start of another work week. My weekend turned into work days but I didn't mind since I did spurge on some new fall boots. I say that was a good reward for myself after a busy week.

Today's Scrapbook Challenges sketch #495 reveal is great if you are in love with grids. I for one don't care for them since I am a little OCD and I have to have everything lined up perfectlf. This grid was perfect for this brain since it was a messy grid.

Here is my take on it. This photos here are pics of my mom and her friends from back in the day.
Supplies: cardstock (American Crafts) pattern paper (American Crafts and Basic Grey), stickers (American Crafts, Crate Paper and Basic Grey), sequins (SpiegleMom Scraps), die cuts (SpiegleMom Scraps), mist (Tattered Angles), sewing machine (Singer) and thread.

Here is a closer look. No "E's" for frame so I used a "M" instead.

I just love the sequins and cork shapes SpiegleMom Scraps has to offer. Use coupon code mandi15 for 15% off your purchase.

Coming to A Roof Top... - SBC #492

If you are looking for the Sparklers Unite Blog Hop check out my previous post.

Today's Scrapbook Challenges #492 sketch reveal is here.

Here is my take on it. I didn't do any visible journaling but I did create a hidden area so my mom can write a Christmas story of when she was little.
Supplies: cardstock (American Crafts), pattern paper (7 Gypsies, Graphic 45 and My Mind's Eye), doily (Sunny Side Up Bakery), washi tape (October Afternoon), wood veneer (Target), foil (Heidi Swapp), foil glue (Deco Art), mist (Ranger), paint (Tattered Angels) and corner punch (Fiskars).

This was a Christmas package topper and I just altered it with some foil sheets and the foil glue pen.

So Me - SBC Journaling Challenge

I am a big believer that the ones behind the camera need to get in front of the lens every once in awhile. For me that means I usually take selfies or set a timer on my camera. Anyways, this month's journaling challenge at Scrapbook Challenges has to do around your "Me Time".

   Here is my page.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics), pattern paper: Canvas Corp Brand, American Crafts, Crate Paper and Echo Park Paper), transparency (American Crafts), canvas (Canvas Corp Brands), mist (Tattered Angels), die cuts (American Crafts), stickers (Echo Park Paper, Sassafrass Lass and American Crafts), booby pin (studio Calico), sequins (Studio Calico), washi tape (The Paper Studio) and punch (We R Memory Keepers)

Here are a few close-ups. Since this page was all about me I used my favorite techniques (clusters and mists) and favorite products (Shimelle and Maggie Holmes papers). My me time is cooking, creating and coffee time.

Grandma's Joy - SBC 480

This #480 layout sketch reveal from Scrapbook Challenges is so great that I had to use the fun circles on the background.

See. I pencil sketch the circles on the cardstock and machine stitched them.
Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics), pattern paper (American Crafts, Echo Park and Crate Paper), doily (Doodlebug Designs), stickers (American Crafts), washi tape (The Paper Studio), stain (Tim Holtz), sewing machine (Singer), tread (Coats & Clark), bakers twine (Bella Creationz), watercolor crayon (Faber-Castell), wood veneers (American Crafts), paint (Americana) and mist (Tattered Angels)

Here is a closer look at this page.

I found that the Echo Park paper was a little too bright for this page so I added distress stain along the edges.

There is Always Time for Cake - SBC Liftapalooza

Here is the inspiration piece from Stacia that Scrapbook Challenges  shared for this scraplift challenge.

Here is my take. I used items all from one collection since I know how Stacia works

Supplies: cardstock (Die Cuts With a View), pattern paper (American Crafts), die cuts (American Crafts), wood dots (American Crafts), stickers (American Crafts), watercolor crayon (Faber-Castell) and mist (Tattered Angels and Ranger)

As you can tell I am still loving this True Stories collection by Shimelle Lain. I think it is perfect for birthday pages. I cut one of the quote papers down to strips to make it the title of the page. This allowed it not to compete with the photos since it was broken down. I recolored the pink wording with watercolor.

Here is a closer look at the corner cluster. I love that it kind of looks like a banner,
